Meet Cameron Prince | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Prince and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cameron, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Since birth, I lived with both of my parents and older brother. My household upbringing was God, Family and Education. I have always been an outgoing and adventurous person. My childhood started with a passion for percussion, football games and music. At the age of 7, my life change tremendously. My dream was too to play competitive sports in football and baseball. Being told at the age of 7 years old that I could not participate in sports due to a severe heart disease seemed like my worse day. Imagine a carefree and high spirited kid, being told he has to receive a defibrillator. The worse day turned into MY BEST DAYS! My set back was all apart of a set up! Despite my life circumstances, my FAITH in GOD has blessed me at the age of 16 to become a successful entrepreneur and owned my business, C Prince Photography.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
C Prince Photography motto is “Style, Creativity and Motivation”. My goal is for all my customers to tell a “story behind the camera lens” which creates their own personal or business style, mixing creativity and being motivated. I want your experience with C Prince Photography to be engaging, exciting, different and just fun! My proudest and most exciting moment is becoming the Coordinator of Photography/Videographer for Hillcrest High School Football Team in Tuscaloosa, AL. I am who I am today because of my mentors. I started with editing pictures with my personal cell phone to owning my own Sony A7II camera, to creating my business website. C Prince Photography was launched July 15, 2020. I started with one customer every two weeks to now being booked at least 6 days a week. Was it easy? Of course not because I am a 16 years old, working part time and attending high school. I’ve learned to activate time management and prioritized my responsibilities in order to remain effective with my academic success and produce quality work for my customers. Some lessons I have learned in my photography business is patience, having faith and learning to encourage myself to become a BETTER ME! An experience with C Prince Photography will strive to meet and exceed your expectations by telling your story and vision through the lens of the camera. I believe what sets my business apart is ” The Experience”. Regardless of how you are feeling, your style, creativity and motivation will always set you apart to tell others your story. People often see the 16 year old kid with a camera, I see the business owner thats making moves because I BELIEVE!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I enjoy being outside most times. If I had to show you the best time ever, it will be attending Alabama Crimson Tide Football or Basketball game, shopping and visiting theme parks. Trying new foods and restaurants is always a plus when hanging out with friends and family. My most fun and exciting place was June of this year, my family visited Orlando Universal Studios Theme Parks.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have always admired the passion of photography. My parents, Colvin and Tammy Prince saw my passion, trusted my vision and pushed me into my destiny of becoming a photographer. Without the support of my mentors, Jonathan Knox and Tommy Armistead, Jr., I would not be who I am today. They both encouraged me to launched out. Jonathan Knox and Tommy Armistead are consistent motivators that gave me the foundation that I needed to learn the skills and become a successful photographer. To work with these two guys is a BLESSING AND HONOR! It makes a difference when you have family and a support team to believe in your dreams and pushes you to achieve your goals.
