We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffani Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffani, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thoughts behind starting up Jordan Cakes was to start my foundation for my boys and I. I also wanted to make money doing something I enjoy. Baking and cooking has always been a love and craft I’ve had since I was 10 yrs old. I love to make people smile and seeing the happiness that comes over their faces when they take that first bite is everything!

What should our readers know about your business?
I started my business from scratch. No investors, just the support of my family and the funds coming from working. It was not easy. I ran into a lot of obstacles. When my grandmother illnesses worsened, I had to stop my business for a year and a half so I could help out more. Sadly, I lost my grandmother August 2020. It put me in a very low depression until she came to me in my dream one night. She told me to “get on it now Tiffani! You know what you gotta do!” Ever since I have revamped and relaunched Jordan Cakes.

I want people to know that no matter what, stay focused and driven in the process of building your brand. It’s not easy but it will pay off in the long run.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Knowing my best friend, I would take her to a nice lounge located in Buckhead or Smyrna Vinings. My best friend loves sushi. She introduced it to me. I would take her to RA steakhouse downtown. For night life, I would probably take her to a nice bar to get drinks and listen to music.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shout-out to my mother , father and grandmother. Without them, I wouldn’t have my cooking and baking skills.
