Hi Tyrisa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business has always been my Dream! I would have Visions of a lavish salon spa with women in Robes and everyone laughing and enjoying getting pampered! That’s still the goal but greatness doesn’t happen overnight. I love the saying, if your dreams don’t scare you they aren’t big enough. When I moved to Georgia in 2016 I had a goal to work at a great salon to build up a clientele that would sustain me to eventually open my own. Most people just want success but never put in the work to get it. You definitely have to have the mindset of a winner to be a business owner. If you have ever played any type of sport your goal is to win the championship. What most people don’t see is how much work/practice a winner puts in.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Tamed By Ty started as me branding myself! I was just a creative hair stylist that wanted to do fantasy hair for runways and photoshoots. I always loved tapping into my creative side. I have worked my butt off to get my foundation set. I moved to Georgia to expand and grow my brand. What sets me apart as a stylist is my compassion for people. Im not in this industry for money. I learned that if money is the only thing that motivates you , you will be on a everlasting journey of never enough. When you are truly happy with your life you are already wealthy.

When starting your own business its like someone dropping a baby off to your house without a diaper bag! Your clueless and overwhelmed with the demands or the task but you eventually learn from previous attempts to accommodate your growing baby(business). What Im most proud about are my natural hair products that have afforded me to expand all over the country! My stimulation oil has been purchased in over 20 states in just over a years time. My products are designed to help encourage natural hair wear in all forms. Beauty is Endless it will never get old. What I want the world to know about Tamed By Ty is that im building a brand that will be known and loved world wide. I definitely see FRANCHISE in my future!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a lover of Nature so we would definitely check out sweet water creek in Lithia Springs as well as Atlanta Botanical Gardens.We would also have brunch at Gritz in downtown Douglasville they have some amazing food and drinks! Another one of my favorite brunch spots is Gocha breakfast bar! Living in Georgia is the best for great food and Fun. Im more of a chill laid back person so when I go out its mainly to vibe, chill and listen to good music. My salon is on Thornton road so Im always looking for fun after a long week of work. We have a new cigar bar called Acere Cigar that has the best vibe and food in the area!.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout Out to my mom for always being a Boss and never settling for Less. I definitely adapted her Hustle mentality! Also my 4 Beautiful Children, they have challenged me to Elevate and Escalate my whole Life.
