We had the good fortune of connecting with Dj B-Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dj B-Love, how do you think about risk?
I believe risk are only opportunities that have a chance at not yielding the reward we want. Most times I think people look at risk as a negative or unachievable when in reality all it means to me is that there will be some work involved just like everything else we want out of life. I think the real question is what is life without risk? I took a risk with quitting my 9-5 management job to pursue my Dj career full-time. It was by far one of the hardest decisions to make but with a little confidence and a lot of faith I feel I made the right decision. Anyone thinking of taking a “risk” in my opinion should do it! Plan, Prepare, Execute!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My whole brand is built around energy I believe thats what will set me apart overtime. I’ve only been djing about 4 years now and the opportunities continue to get bigger and bigger thats what keeps me excited. I came into this game with little knowledge and the trials and tribulations were like anything you start in life that you want to be great at you just have to adapt and overcome. The only way i feel to overcome anything is to stay persistent, there are times now when i’m not booked or have a lot of business but, giving up is the only way you lose. I want the world to know that my brand is authentic, full of energy and for everyone. I play music for any and everyone because i yield the reward of seeing people when they are the happiest and most full of life. Everyone has a soundtrack playing in their head everyday! I like to think that my experience and brand add to that, kind of like i add a little peace of life or energy to everyone!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ok first things first we have to eat! So no matter what time of the day it is we have to go to Six Feet Under on 11th street in Atlanta, by far some of the best seafood I have had by far. Im not from Georgia so i’m still finding hot spots for drinks and other entertainment but, If you want to have a great time and experience good music then you have to come hang out with me at my stopping grounds. Club Rodeo Diamonds of Macon! its my residency and we don’t just have fun like my guy Dee would say we create a vibe and memories that last forever! So if your in the area and don’t have anything going on come and see us you definitely won’t regret it!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to s/o God first of all with him anything is possible! My family plays a big part in my decision making and without them i wouldn’t be who I am today. So i love you guys Big S/o to my Mother Ineza my brothers Trae, and Pj. and my son Brandon Jr!! Love you guys!!! There are al ot of people who have contributed to my success and i want to thank everyone who’s been along with me on this journey honestly. I can’t say enough about those who’ve given me the motivation to keep grinding and push me to be the best version of myself.
