We had the good fortune of connecting with Cat Burton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cat, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor to the success of my brand is collaboration. I would not be where I am at today without the connections I have made with other creatives.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Cat Burton is a freelance content strategist who consults with creatives and brands to help them produce new and original content. Cat dubbed the term Create Art Together, which specializes in producing innovative concepts, visuals, events, and shows. She believes in the power of collaboration and with each project, Cat is able to put together a team of creatives who are able to best get the job done. Her work reflects what she hopes to see more of in mainstream media and the future of the fashion industry.

One of Cat’s first events as a creative director was a fashion show called Styled by Example. Styled by Example is a show that celebrates Women’s History Month while showcasing the talent of stylists and models. She later went on to coordinate galleries called Reclaimed Roles and Every Body Gonna Shine alongside Joe Lowrey. Cat’s latest creative endeavor was directing Haus of Luxurae, a hair and fashion show featuring hair art from Mia Marshall, owner of Luxurae Hair.

Now, you can find Cat as the Creative Arts Manager at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, doing freelance work as a content strategist, helping artists to bring their visions to life and working as the Project Manager with Empty Space Project.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite area of Pittsburgh is the Northside, there are many cultural organizations and places to visit such as The Mattress Factory, The Children’s Museum, The Aviary, and the Andy Warhol Museum.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Style 412 has given me so many opportunities to grow within my own career, Elysia Newman has been a great mentor to me through my growth in the fashion industry.
