We had the good fortune of connecting with Lady Scribe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lady, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Freedom of expression. It’s been a savings grace to be able to do something that I love and have it called work.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our tagline at SRE Media Group is that “We Understand Your Story”. This is what sets us apart from other public relations firms.. We put our clients first. Fame isn’t our mission. We pride ourselves on being on the positive side of media and events.
We specialize in brand personality and artist development. Defining one’s likeness is the most important part for anyone considering getting into the entertainment industry. We’ve watched so many lose themselves in their persona, our clients know that this won’t happen on our watch!
The road to today was not easy. As a Black Woman in a male dominated profession, has been taxing on my spirit. However, keeping my WHY in focus (my children/my family), it was well worth it.
Now, I get a chance to share my story and my experience with other young women interested in media/music/events. I can fast track them and minimize the hardships that they may otherwise go through.
I want the world to know that I’m dedicated in helping others win. I know what it feels like to not have and want so much more at the same time. Building generational wealth is key for all of us no matter what career we choose. I/we are here to help bring your dreams to fruition.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Coming from Seattle where there’s not a lot of Black representation in the city, Atlanta gives us the joy of being ourselves unapologetically.
So, I would start at the Apex Museum and then the Trap Museum. I would take them to check out the Black Brands at Village at PCM. To hang for drinks, food and culture, definitely East Atlanta.
+ Mercedes Benz Stadium, now that we have the Black Music & Entertainment Walk of Fame, talk about legacy! What a sight to see! Black Hollywood for real!
For my foodies, it’s Atlanta’s Fish House and Grill and Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken for me!
I can’t forget the CNN building! For anyone interested in media, it’s a MUST go see! I would take them there. For my artists, I would book them a session at Stankonia Studios and Soul Asylum Studio Group! It’s a game changer!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes. My mother and father Everett and Charko Hunter.
Becoming an entrepreneur was a chance I took on myself. I had no idea where this road would lead, yet having my parents unconditional support has made the difference in my life, as a mother and in my career.
