We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Ross and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Briana, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
Working for myself has been great, but it would not be possible if I didn’t take time for myself. I believe that you can’t pour from an empty cup, so it’s essential to make time for yourself and do things you enjoy. I enjoy what I do so much that I didn’t have any hobbies, but that started to take a toll on me because I was working myself to death and did not have any boundaries. I wanted to have hobbies and take off from work, but I felt like I didn’t have the time. To make a change, I had to stop making excuses. I started painting and gardening, things that I have always dreamed of doing, and it has brought me immense peace. Because I am setting boundaries, making time for self-care, and doing things I love, I can show up as an even better mom, wife, and business owner.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have considered myself a creative/artist my whole life. I started singing young, and I love to write. When I was in high school, I was introduced to graphic design when I decided to take a Photoshop class during my senior year, and little did I know that would prepare me for my entrepreneurial journey. I started offering consulting and coaching services, then ventured into graphic design, and I fell in love. It hasn’t been easy, but the journey has been worth it. I had to learn how to set boundaries and learn how to charge my worth. HelloBriana Consulting offers coaching and design services to entrepreneurs, helping them create a unique experience around their products and services. We believe there’s room for everyone; you just have to position your brand the right way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, if my best friend came to visit my area we would take a series of mini-trips. I love hiking, so we woould check out some amazing places to hike. Two days would have to be dedicated to visiting the beach, because who doesn’t love the beach?! I would also love to do a cabin trip for a few days, and enjoy nature.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Major shoutout to Dr. Michael Tatonetti of Atlanta, GA! His membership program that I was a part of changed the game for me, and taught me how to tap into my genius, focus on giving value to my audience, and so much more!
