We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Grantham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factors behind my success are authenticity, transparency, and patience; for the three to exist, I believe, you have to be self-aware, accept everything you learn about yourself, and get clear on your business goals. Otherwise, you’ll follow trends and recreate paths that are not meant for you and your brand. Consistency is also significant in your journey to success; I’ve had long periods of silence from promoting on social media, but I’ve never stopped working. Patience is the real key. You must have the confidence and faith in knowing all things happen when they are supposed to.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started as a library volunteer and after a few months, I was hired as a part-time assistant. A year later, I received a promotion as a Sr. Librarian Assistant/Children’s Specialist. Working for the library has granted me the opportunity to further my educational career twice with an M.F.A in Writing and a Post-Masters Certification in University and College Teaching which birthed for more creativity in my profession with writing workshops and groups for children and adults.

The challenge with my current career is knowing I’ve hit my glass ceiling without many opportunities for me to move forward. However, I’ve learned to use my current audience to become familiar with me and what I do. I’m still able to do what I love which is write and encourage others with their writing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The books I would like to dedicate my shoutout to are the Seven Laws of Spiritual Success, The Creative Habit, and Steal Like An Artist. I have been fortunate to have many supporters who shower me with love and encouragement. I would also like to thank my colleague/mentor and friend, De’Trice Fox–thank you for the tough love and listening ear.
