Meet Dessa Nue: Singer/Sonwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dessa Nue and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dessa, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want my legacy to be as great as God wants it to be, we never know were we will end up in life and its only by Gods grace that we can climb the highest Mountain and reach the goals that we set for ourselves. I want the people to remember me as a Dream chaser and risk taker but most of all a Honest and Pure soul.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Recording Singer Songwriter from The Netherlands. What sets me apart is my background, my culture and were I come from. Their aren’t too many Known Afro Dutch Surinamese woman in the Entertainment Industry right now and I am determent to introduce the world to our Vibe and Music. I am proud and very excited of the progress I have been making in releasing my own music without any help of Majors and continue to crush my goals. As Independent artist, the Only way to overcome challenges is by learning from your past mistakes, not giving up and keep growing to next levels and always keep pushing the envelope, but most of all believing in yourself.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Prior To Covid19 wow yea, If its a long weekend on $. Fridays we are going to The east side of Atlanta First. Ill take them to the eclectic Little 5 Points to chill maybe eat a slice of Pizza or Vegan food And later that night we would go to MJQ on Ponce De Leon. $. Saturday We might hang out in the city go to a couple Malls go shopping and hang around town. Take a ride to the West Side of town. The West End never fails, as we like to stay connected with the roots and culture and eat real Atlanta Southern Soul food. Go back Home, Change clothes and then Bar/club hop all night. I mainly like the International Clubs $ Sunday We’ll go to the Atlanta High Museum and take a walk around Piedmont Park $Monday ill take them to a Spa/ nail Salon to rejuvenate, usually that will be up North “Spa Land” is great I like Eclectic Free People so where ever it take them will be a judgement free Zone PS As long as it is Vintage and Artsy they are going and we LOVE Free stuff lol
