One of the most important lessons we learned is that our lives and our businesses will teach us along the way. We don’t need to know everything on day one because the challenges we face on day will likely be ones we are already equipped to handle. As we overcome challenges we get better and better and as the challenges increase in difficulty so too does our ability to tackle them.

We asked members of the community that we admire to share important lessons their business or career has taught them and have shared some of those responses below.

Rozie Virani | Owner & Stylist

I have learned so many lessons actually! My business has taught me developing true, genuine relationships is a key to life. I have also learned that staying stagnant won’t get you very far, that growth comes from the unknown and that evolving everyday is essential. It is important to stay educated and on top of new trends because the beauty industry is always evolving. If I didn’t know how to do something or get through it, I would find a way. Terence Mills | Photographer & Graphic Designer

Over the years, there have been a lot of lessons but the most important lesson I’ve learned is to trust the process and remain dedicated to your vision. Obstacles are designed to test your dedication to whatever it is that your chasing and your willingness to push through the tough times are truly a testament to what’s inside of you. The process is different for many because its designed solely for you so you have to be able to look at the situations presented, seek advice and then trust and follow your gut on how you should move forward. I’m thankful for it all, the good and the bad because it developed character and rededicates my passion each time. Read more>>

I started as a Pure Barre Teacher, then took on the role of Studio Manager. I had no idea how I was going to make it happen, but I kept working towards and dreaming of owning my own Pure Barre studio. There were a couple of opportunities that came about with potential business partners that ended up falling through. At the time, I was heartbroken and discouraged. Life continued to ebb and flow with different seasons of my life, but Pure Barre has been a constant since that very first class in 2010. Through persistence, hard work, and finding the perfect business partner in my husband, Chad, my decade long dream became a reality last year. Read more>>
