To persevere or to pivot is a question that do-ers have been asking themselves since the beginning of time. It’s never a straight road when you are doing something new, blazing a trail, breaking a ceiling, or pushing boundaries, so it’s only natural to wonder whether to give up midway. In 2017 my sister was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called ChondroSarcoma – a category of tumors of bone and soft tissue. A very rare form at times not curable by radiation. My sister and I share an 8 year age gap, but our bond is magnetic. I found out about this diagnosis right before Christmas in 2017. I lost my job due to a fire in the building & the news of my sister followed right after, devastated to say the least. To me, this question is quite simple. There is no such thing as giving up! Yes, things get tough, life happens (especially with the year we have had), there will always be highs and lows but those things make what I do worth fighting for!
