We had the good fortune of connecting with Zeke Sayer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zeke, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
If there was a conscious process; to document a growing collection of thought, sound, & ideas.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most excited about Gypsy Farm’s upcoming releases.

The first is Tape Feed (Vol 2), a compilation cassette of GF recordings with proceeds going to the food bank.

Tape Feed Volume 1 released last year & generated over 1000 meals to mouths through Feeding America.

Another cause for excitement is The Humms’ third record, “Pelzer F*ck Club” out August 30th on Gypsy Farm Records.

If I could ascertain the difference of Gypsy Farm, that would be admitting we’re in some kind of competition.

We’re happy in the sunshine but glad to see the shade.

Skud’s granddaddy used to say “Brands are for cereal”.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d start at a Fresh market & end at the Northside Tavern. The Humms producer, Skud Harris, will not shut-up about the Optimist. They have one fantastic lobster roll. The band raved about this taco spot down in Hapeville but couldn’t recall the name. As for drinking, concrete has a way of holding the summer heat & throwing it back in your face at midnight. Skud must have some kind of deal with Zackariah Harris bourbon, but I recommend drinking plenty of water. Just water.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Nothing would be possible without family & friends, the line between the two becoming thinner by the minute. Honorable mentions: WJ, KJ & Skud Harris.
