We had the good fortune of connecting with Zac Sweat and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zac, what are you inspired by?
I was inspired to coach by walking my own path of growth and development. For a long time I had zero direction, and was living a very unintentional life. My results were mediocre at best and I was physically, spiritually, mentally and financially bankrupt. It wasn’t until I was 34 years old did I have a sudden and painful realization that all the results in my life were because of me and ONLY me. It wasn’t until I took full responsibility for my actions and behavior and was willing to sit in a space of brutal truth did I realize I was the only one who could change the direction of my life. So that’s exactly what I did. I stood on the shoulders of giants and went on a journey of looking within to find my meaning and purpose in this life. After years of acquiring knowledge and application of this newfound knowledge, my life and results now looked dramatically different and I wanted to share it with the world. So I started coaching. And this quote by Jordan Peterson became my ethos: “The most noble thing that you can do in this life is to heal yourself, sort your life out, and then share it with others so they can do the same.” Hearing this really inspired/motivated me to share each principle, truth, and experience I’ve had along my journey of growth with others. It created a fire within me to be completely transparent and authentic with my message, so that maybe in some way people who tuned in could take a piece of what I have been doing and apply it to their own life and progress. I truly believe that’s what we are here to do. To share, to be of service to others. And when I started to make changes and experience different results in my life I wanted to be that light. I wanted to show people it was possible to tune into the highest version of themselves when they became brutally honest with where they were at and really start to create the results they wanted in this life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Life Coach, Author and Inspirational Speaker. My speciality is that I assist people with finding their starting point in life. I truly believe that you cannot get to a destination you desire without first articulating where you’re at. I also believe in giving honest, direct, brutal truth to my clients. No fluff. Straight to the point. The more clarity we have in this life the better our aim can be when we start to move towards our higher self. I have written a workbook/guide that is principle based that gives my own personal life experience and taps into all different spaces I have been in and exactly what I did to help improve each department of my life. Keyword is “guide” I have the belief that we can heal no one else in this life. You can only walk with alongside people on their journey of growth. When I started out, I didn’t quite understand that. I thought I was doing all of the healing. My ego led quite a bit in the beginning and I had the idea that I had to be perfect to be a Life Coach. But as I grew in mind and spirit, I learned that being fully authentic and transparent along the way and sharing my own personal experiences, good or “bad” was much more helpful to people I worked with. Progress not perfection is my mantra now.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start with going to Flip Burger in Atlanta for sure! I am completely a burger person at heart and they have some of the best burgers, fries and milkshakes I’ve ever had. I would also take them to see a comedy show at The Laughing Skull. They always have such great talent on the stage. I would also take them to a show at the masquerade. Preferably a metal show lol. I love that venue and although they moved locations, I absolutely love to see live music there.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wanted to dedicate my story of success to all the giants whom allowed me to stand on their shoulders to share my message of life and growth. Mentors like Bob Proctor, Les Brown, Jim Rohn, Robin Sharma, Simon Sinek, Abraham Hicks, Napoleon Hill, June Dillinger, Wes Robins, Sean Coleman, Kris Benson and Kevin Heskett. Thank You for allowing me to take your philosophies and apply it to my own path.
