We had the good fortune of connecting with Yisrael Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Yisrael, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Growing up I was exposed to entrepreneurship & unconsciously took a liking to being able to do what I loved while getting paid for it. I later found out the unlimited amount of responsibilities you have as a business owner, however with the competitiveness I have engrained in my through sports and being an athlete I was always up for a new challenge even if it was hard for others to do.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a full time entrepreneur I wear a lot of hats and do numerous things for my business. I have one brick and mortar that I co own called A List Atl. It is Atlantas first fusion salon suites with a fragrance bar. Very new concept but we plan to have multiple locations in the next year to 2 years.

I also am a Mens grooming specialist who focuses on grooming services beyond the haircut i.e facials, scalp treatments, in grown hair removal, beard services, and more. I provide education and business training to barbers all over the country who are looking to increase their income and maximize their potential from behind the chair. The program is called “Learn More Earn More Academy”.
I wrote a book at 27 years old called “Entrepreneur what I wish they would’ve told me” focusing on the 12 key intangibles of entrepreneurial success.

ALL of these things were difficult to do for various reasons. Whether it was time in which I did them, being doubted, not having the capital to invest, and tons of other factors. However the struggle was worth it and it actually becomes a part of the process when you have a plan but not all the tools, you have to dig deep and use your past experiences to help navigate to new spaces you’ve never been to before. Sometimes you have to do it alone, sometimes you have help. but all the time you have to believe its possible even if its not physical or visible yet.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Whew, thats a tough question, As I mentioned before I know alot of entrepreneurs around the city who do so many things so I would definitely try to some of the black owned business I know and support. The Gathering spot being on of them. I obviously would bring them to my location get them looking and smelling great. Its a laundry list of restaurants I would visit, from soul food like Roc South to vegan option like Slutty Vegan or Tasillis. Maybe visit the High Museum then go by a lounge for some drink and live entertainment. Ponce city market roof top would also be on the list thats always a good time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I honestly have had support from all of my family and friends getting to this point. I understood more than ever during the pandemic that support comes in different forms and with growth you have to take the support people can give and appreciate the efforts, I have had great mentorship and peer mentorship from countless entrepreneurs around the city of Atlanta who are really making a great impact in all industries. Finally “I want to thank myself” as quoted by the Legend Snoop Dog.I want to thank myself for staying the path, believing in Gods will and favor over my life, and having the drive, determination, and focus to continue to push myself to the next level in business and personal.
