Meet Ubri Holmes | Master Barber & Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ubri Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ubri, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I’ve always been a risk taker. We’ve all heard the term, “scared money don’t make money.” I grew to realize that taking risks are actually an act of faith. Moreover, you can’t be afraid to fail. Inside every loss is a lesson. At this point in my life, it’s true that yes I’m a risk taker but now I take more calculated risks.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am the Owner and CEO of Exxoduss & Associates, LLC which is the parent company of Tha Fade Goat Cuts and Styles. I also have a small fleet of vehicles that I rent out through the car sharing platform Turo, as well as being co-founder and pastor of Strong Tower Christian Ministries.
I got here by Faith but also by a no retreat, no surrender attitude. I’ve never really had a “Plan B”. Truthfully, I had a felony on my record, so it was tough for me to get a decent paycheck job. I had to be creative in finding ways to use the talents that God had given me to make some sort of living for myself.
I was always good at “flipping money”
I mean I sold the good and the bad. From clothes, sneakers, rims and tires….you name it, I’ve tried it. It’s like being in a food fight. I just threw things up against the wall to see what would stick. I guess my message to others would be keep trying until you’ve exhausted all options and then, try something else. Alot of times we talk our way out of things before we even get started. Even worst, we will sometimes let other people, who haven’t done anything in their lives, talk you out of pursuing your dreams. My advice would be, to be careful of the company that you keep and of the voices you allow to speak into your life.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I’m definitely a foodie. I really enjoy going to Magnolia Room Cafeteria in Tucker. I enjoy attending sporting events and I also enjoying shopping.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well first I would like to acknowledge Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, from which all blessings flow. HE has been so good to me along this life journey. I would like to also acknowledge my wife, Jaryl Holmes, for standing beside me and supporting every endeavor that I’ve embarked upon.
