We had the good fortune of connecting with Turkey Chareunsouk and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Turkey, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factors behind my success? With out a doubt my wife and my kids. With out their patience love and understanding I wouldn’t be doing what I love till this day. They are my biggest support system and cheerleaders. Hell my wife pushed me to my limits when it comes to creatively and with her knowledge in business formed and shaped me in this industry.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As for my art I really don’t have a style and not really set on anything. I like to learn from peers and social media by looking at other artist I look up too and evolve my own style and creativity. Getting to where I am no it wasn’t a walk in the park , hell it still isn’t lol. Just had to switch my mind frame from business to artist and then you’ll see the industry a bit different. If you look at the industry just to collect that next check then your a business man worried about that next check, but if you look at the industry as an artist then you see opportunities to grow where you lack in art. Your art grows as you grow there’s never such thing as an artist that is done learning. The only lesson I learned along the way is accept positive and negative criticism, some will be harsh then others but have a thick skin and perfect it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would say to start the day go have coffee at a mom and pops coffee house there’s so many and it’s all good. Pick up teas and smoothies later in the day from a good friend of mines , of course hang out At ponce city market or Krog street (small businesses) eat some good Korean bbq
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Rachel (wife) Shyanne and neala (daughters) they keep me going and keep me motivated as an artist. Heath Migliore who i worked with for years is like a father/friend to me but more like a mentor when it comes to art, life and the passion of being a human and what we are here for spiritually.
