We had the good fortune of connecting with Tishanna Browning and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tishanna, what do you want people to remember about you?
The legacy I would like to leave behind means leaving my loved ones, and children with something they will remember for the rest of their lives and generations to come.
I would love to be remembered by the way I made people feel.
The goal for my legacy would be to spiritually, mentally and financially make significant progress in anything
I set out to accomplish. Along being able to leave behind something for my loved ones in order to create some peace of mind.
I would like to be remembered for the way I loved on all people.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
NLFF LLC opened up in January of 2023, it was not an easy road at all. I am still facing challenges, and trying to overcome the struggles daily. I am a mother of a special needs child. In between my son and the adventures of being a business owner life can sometimes be very difficult just day to day. No Limiting Factors Fitness LLC was formed during the pandemic season, the goal was to open a gym prior to the pandemic. Once we were hit by Covid-19 I saw all of my dreams being put on hold, and fear of not being able to open up was real. I shopped so many commercial locations in Jacksonville, and I couldn’t find any reasonable pricing on rent. Then something said look outside of Jacksonville, I checked St.Johns county and it wasn’t affordable for me either. I tried to look into buying commercial property through Tax liens, but I would have to spend more capital just to get the place up, and running. So I figured that won’t work, then I had to move from my old place, and ended up staying in Kingsland GA temporarily with a friend. That’s when it came to me try looking up in that area, and that’s when I found St.Mary’s GA a small military town. Once I found affordable rent, then I got started with demo and build out, on my new upcoming gym. The process wasn’t easy either, because after finding the space we needed then that very weekend I ended up injuring my back. Which left me unable to walk for 7 weeks. This took time away from me being able to get ready for the gym to open, and I was even contemplating not opening up anymore. However the landlord was very understanding, and he extended the time for me to open. I was able to complete the demo work all by myself, and with the help of a few friends I was able to get the entire place ready to open up for business in January of 2023.

I have learned a lot along the way, and I continue to learn.
1. if you build it they will not come…(lol) you must market all the time!
2. Hiring is not as easy as it seems
3. Self funding is not the best way to open a business
4. Staying determined and driven is key
5.Having Faith is golden to getting through one day at a time

I want to let the world know that you must stay encouraged if God put something in your
heart he will provide a way as long as you are willing to be obedient, available and teachable. Don’t let anyone limit you or your goals, which is why my gym is named No Limiting Factors Fitness LLC, so that my clients can feel the same way about their health goals. Limits are in place because you allow them to be there, but you can always surpass any limitation with the right drive and determination anything is possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
St.Mary’s is a small military town, so there isn’t much in the area, but there are some local historical attractions nearby like Cumberland Island or travel 20mins South, and you will be near to Jacksonville International Airport area. There are a lot of places to eat, and shop, then another 15mins South would take you into down town Jax where there is even more options for fun.

Locally in Camden we could go out Kayaking in the Estuary, so we can see the clams and fish life that dwells there.
The next day we can look into chartering a boat, and go out fishing.
We can also shop in the local Cumberland Island boutique stores.
Check out Ops for food on SR40, on their nights they have live music.
Of course workout at No Limiting Factors Fitness LLC and check out the juice & smoothie bar inside after we work out.
Visiting Jacksonville also can bring on some more fun options for rooftop restaurants like River & Post, Hoptingers or Cowfords etc. and beautiful views of the city at night.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One of my favorite quotes that’s known around the world is from
John Donne- “No Man Is An Island, No Man Lives Alone”

This is so true for all of us, since we are not here by our own accord, but yet by GOD’s will. However we grow together as a people by those who raised, mentored, prayed over us, and who simply made the sacrifices for our lives to be better. My development, and growth was attributed to both my grandmother’s and paternal aunt, as a child they were the ones who cared for me, taught me discipline, love, wisdom, respect, compassion, and how to be a functioning adult. I will be forever grateful for being blessed with them in my life. Especially my aunt she remained a pillar in my life into adulthood up until the recent time of her passing, she poured so much into my spirit and heart. Some of my aunt’s favorite words she would tell me that I still hear her saying, “Let the Lord Fight Your Battles, You Just Need to Pray to The Lord about It, and He will Direct You.” More frequently I have begun to understand what she meant by that saying, and although it is hard to just really give it over to God. I must say anytime that I have just allowed God to guide me everything works out like it should.

As I age these principles become more frequently used in my life. Especially since I realized that nothing is done on my own without the Higher Power leading me. I have read many books that has been helpful to my life as well, but it’s so many to name, I choose one in particular named “Miracle Morning”. Author’s name is Hal Elrod. This book focuses on creating routines, visualizing, exercise, reading and writing. The main lesson from the book is that if you focus on being productive when you start your mornings, then you’ll enable the ability to be more focused, productive, and successful. Which inevitably this creates a successful life and the results we desire. In the same way unproductive, mediocre behaviors, poor attitudes and unfocused actions also produce low chances of success & happiness.

My daily routine involves me taking time out of each day to spend time with God. In the morning before heading out the door into the world, my son & I pray, and at night, also. This helps settle my heart and mind, so I can start my day. My growth and development is a continuous process until I die, so everyday I will hold my aunt’s, and grandmother’s voices in my heart as a form of accountability for me to remain on the right path.
