We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Upshaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
When I come to terms with the impact on my children’s life, I believe I have blossom them to have old school values. I have taught them what it means to be truly genuine, loyal, hardworking, and respectful. They have learned to value the universe as an investment. It is important to me for them to know that you only yield return on what you put in (spiritually and financially). Right now, they’re young and of course still grasping the fact it is important to be genuinely happy with yourself and for others.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of Freak of Nature Beauty Detox Studio nestled inside Stonecrest Salon Suites in Stonecrest, GA. I am a detox specialist that specializes in feet detoxing, waxing, yoni steaming, teeth whitening, and post op care. I started my business in November 2020 with very little experience, but I am most proud of how I have excelled in knowledge in all walks of my business. Building a business from the ground up is not easy AT ALL, but it’s my steady dedication that keeps me going. I’ve learned the biggest life lesson just by continuing to grow this business. Everything takes time. Millionaires don’t drop out of thin air. I have respect for every person waking up daily pursing better, no matter how big or small the step.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite spots in Atlanta are the real low-key ones. If I was taking a friend out on the town out in the city, I would have to stop by one of my favorite spots Barcelona Wine Bar and grab some food and do a little wine tasting, maybe do some hiking in one of our beautiful hiking trails (it’s a lot of them), and my turn up spot of choice is Ourbar ATL in Edgewood. It doesn’t matter what day of the week you come you’re sure to have the time of your life! It’s full of eclectic people with a house party vibe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh! I have a few people to “shout out” for my humble beginnings, but when I think of who has pushed me the most to take leaps of faith time and time again it’s definitely one of my closest friends Shakira Morrow the owner of Shakira G salon in Atlanta, GA. She has been my spiritual sister in all walks of life. She has checked me at my worse and loved on me at my best. Everybody should have someone like them on their team. I’m so grateful.
