Meet Tia Hart | Brand Manager & Creative Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tia Hart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tia, what role has risk played in your life or career?
One thing about me, taking risks, when it comes to my creativity, is a natural process. I see “risks” as a norm and when I realize there’s a risk taking place, I know that I’m challenging myself. My brand thrives because of the challenges I have faced, both personally & professionally, and because I take on clients who want to trust someone to take risks for them. I choose to take the risks because that’s what makes me stand outside the box and that’s what keeps the referrals coming in. I’m not your average Communications Professional and often, the one service someone thinks they need is either not the only thing they need or it needs some other things done before it can be accomplished. Trust me, it’s even a risk to tell someone during a Consultation Call what they need rather than just take their money and provide a service.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a Communications Professional, I consult with people & businesses to find a solution to the needs of their brand. Because I’ve held many positions over the years and have those experiences, I chose to take this path because there is not one niche to my brand. When faced with the statement (numerous times), “Define your niche”, I made the ultimate risk of not doing that. I’m great at many niches and decided my degree in Communications would be put to work by offering services catered to assisting Brands, Businesses, & Professionals with any of their needs dealing with how they communicate to their consumers and the media. Once I took my ultimate challenge to use my name as my brand, it was not just a moment in facing a fear but also a moment in defining myself. To this day I still love to work in the background but I no longer mind putting my name & face out there. I struggled with this for many years and it was an anxiety of mine. This year I celebrate 4 years, out of 19 years in the business, of me just being myself and doing what I love to do as my full time job. I’ve learned that not everybody is going to appreciate what you do or accept the way you do things but I was never meant to be boxed in by a “one niche profession’. I’m a creative person and love the experience I get seeing someone’s brand grow and get recognition for its potential. Marketing, Advertising, Promotion, Public Relations, Writing & even Production are the key components to my brand and I also have my own media platforms. I have W.I.L.D! Magazine, that was created with my partner Kischa Peña. Wholesaler Stsrter Kit, which was created with my partner Mike Hustle. Underground Fade TV, which was created with my husband/partner Al. & last but not least, TayloredHart, which is a mindfulness & meditation business I created to teach & sell products to help people looking to find peace & relieve stress through meditation tools. I just want the world to know that you can do anything you put your mind to and although life will throw things at you like depression, failures, and 0 ROI (lol), if you keep being consistent and respectful, the consistency will pay off and the respect will be earned and recognized.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For me, I’m a spontaneous person when I travel. The only thing I will plan is the traveling & the lodging because the best part is the adventure in finding good people, good food, & fun places. It all depends on the city I’m in. For Atlanta, I like to feel like I’m re-living my childhood of living in Lithonia so I would to check out black owned soul food restaurants. In my opinion, if it’s a “chain” restaurant and I’m visiting, I don’t want it. My type of fun now is also way different than it was before I had children so I would suggest something adventurous again like hopping through Antique Stores & Book Stores. Why? It’s like a Treasure Hunt and finding cool looking pieces of furniture, pictures, or books that have history tied to them can actually be awarding. You never know when you’ll find something for $10 and ends up being worth $10,000. The South is full of treasures like this that were made by our ancestors or made so that our ancestors couldn’t buy them and I like to think that finding these things make great fun. Then again, I’m a Nerd. But a really cool nerd.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When you’ve been pushing other brands and professionals for 2 decades, it gives off a little anxiety trying to pinpoint some key shout outs. I would definitely have to shout out my mother because since day 1 she has supported anything I do. Next I would definitely attribute my success story to my best friend/ husband because he’s been by my side through every challenge and risk I have faced. Now I will want to mention some mentors & influences who taught me so much & not just by teaching, but by taking that risk with me and showing me hands on. Bobby, Tasha, Affishaul, Nitram, L Real, T-Dash (RIP), Manifest, Rikers, Anje, Ensayne (RIP), Kischa, Mike, Pocket & most importantly, to my sons.
