We had the good fortune of connecting with Tatiana Boyce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tatiana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my business in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. My biggest inspiration came from my two grandmothers, who both had a love for jewelry. Growing up, they would gift me pieces that I cherished, and I always admired how they wore their jewelry with such confidence, femininity, and class. Starting my own business was not only a way to honor them, but also a personal challenge—I wanted to prove to myself that I could build something from the ground up, even through all the trials and errors. More than anything, I wanted to show other minorities that it’s possible to create something of your own and turn your vision into reality.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m most proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and not letting fear of what others might think hold me back. I’m especially excited for the re-launch of my website before the year ends, where I’ll be featuring more vintage-inspired pieces that capture the style and spirit of the 80s and 90s.

I’ve gotten to where I am today because I kept pushing forward, even when things felt hard. It’s not easy—far from it—but it’s always possible. I overcame challenges by keeping my vision in mind and reminding myself of the life I want to create, knowing that the work I put in now is what will get me there. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned recently is that it’s okay to have multiple passions at once—and to pursue them all with heart.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, we’d start the day with brunch at Folk Art. After fueling up, we’d head to the Aquarium for some sightseeing and fun. In the evening, we’d grab dinner at one of my favorite sushi spots in Atlanta—Eight Sushi—before ending the night with drinks and dancing at Jojo’s Beloved.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to first dedicate my shout-out to God. Without my faith, I wouldn’t have had the courage or confidence to start my jewelry business. I also want to dedicate it to my parents and my boyfriend, who have been my unwavering support system. Whenever self-doubt creeps in, they’re the ones who lift me up, remind me of my strength, and reassure me that with God, anything is possible.
