We had the good fortune of connecting with Taqiyya Alford and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taqiyya, how does your business help the community?
My business promotes:

1. Mental Health Awareness: By promoting self-healing practices, the business can contribute to the destigmatization of mental health challenges. Products like journals encourage self-reflection and mindfulness, helping individuals process their emotions.
2. Environmental Consciousness: Offering plants and eco-friendly products can foster a connection to nature, promote sustainability, and raise awareness about environmental issues. This can encourage consumers to adopt greener lifestyles.
3. Stress Reduction: Many people experience chronic stress in a fast-paced world. Candles and plants can create calming environments, providing relaxation and promoting overall well-being.
4. Child Development: Children’s books that focus on emotional intelligence and self-care can equip young readers with tools to navigate their feelings, fostering resilience and empathy from an early age.
5. Community Building: Workshops or online communities centered around these products can create spaces for shared experiences and support, combating loneliness and fostering connections.
6. Accessibility to Self-Care: By making self-care resources available at various price points, the business can make healing practices accessible to a wider audience, promoting inclusivity.

By addressing these issues, my business promotes its products and contributes to a healthier, healed, and more connected society. I am hopeful that there may be opportunities available that can help me sustain and grow my business so that it can reach its full potential. Your guidance and any resources you can provide would be invaluable as I continue on this journey.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would say that my business is just as diverse as I am. I have always loved art since I was a child, but it was never just one thing. Today, not much has changed. My business/passion is in painting, photography, creating candles, making crystals, writing Children’s books, self-healing journals, and pottery.

I would say it’s been very challenging trying to focus and fund my business. Which is why I work two jobs in my career fields, one in Clinical Research and Pharmaceuticals, and the other is in Public Health. I am also a Social Media Content Creator and Influencer.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are that chasing your dream will not be easy, but it will not only be fulfilling but also worth it!

I want the world to know that my business foundation aims to empower individuals worldwide through passionate and transformative resources in books, motivation, photography, and art, fostering healing and personal growth regardless of age, race, ethnicity, or religion. I want to leave a lasting and positive foundational imprint that will endure for generations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am an art lover to the soul, which means I would guide them to visit downtown, where there is a variety of culture and history. I honestly do not go out enough to give specifics, but I will utilize TikTok, which recommends different places depending on what they are interested in. It can be places to eat, clubs, lounges, museums, gallaries, parks, etc. This is another reason why I love Atlanta, as it does not matter what you are interested in, Atlanta has it! Diversity is everything!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would always like to dedicate my success to my kids. My son and two daughters have seen me at my lowest and witnessed my strength to not give up on myself and my dreams. The amount of love, prayers, motivation, and support that they have shown me, with and without words, gave me the strength I never thought I had. God knew that I would need them just as much as they need me.
