We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammy Wages and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tammy, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is having a strong team. The individuals on my team are trustworthy, dependable, compassionate, and dedicated. I never doubt that if I needed anything that they would not do anything in their power to make it happen. My husband, Kurt Wages is also a small business owner and he has pushed me to pursue my passions and my dreams. Without his support I definitely would not be where I am today.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I began in veterinary medicine over 18 years ago. I have loved animals and helping people and their pets my entire life. I knew from the moment I stepped into this field that vet med is where I belonged. Veterinary medicine has helped me grow in so many ways and opened up so many opportunities for me to make a difference in my field. I have worked my way through vet med beginning as a kennel technician, all the way to now practice management and owner of the most precious feline and small furry exotic hospital in Peachtree City, Georgia. Our practice is unique in that we cater to felines mostly and we work diligently to offer a secure, safe and quiet atmosphere for our patients. We have the greatest clients of anyone around, and our team is one built around trust, dedication and hardworking individuals. I am so proud of what we have created and I am thankful every day that I get to be part of such an incredible team.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Atlanta! I think we have one of the greatest cities in the United States. Firstly, our skyline is spectacular. We have incredible sunsets, amazing restaurants and so much entertainment right at our finger tips. A long weekend of fun for me is a long hiking trip. We have so many amazing trails throughout Atlanta and surrounding areas. I also really love Ponce City Market and the atmosphere, so that would definitely make the list of places we would go. I love restaurants that are not chains. So finding that little nook hidden from view is my favorite. I love a good play. We have so many incredible theaters in Atlanta. I’m obsessed with our city.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My colleagues in the veterinary industry are Dr. Lori Stearns, Dr. William Toole and Dr. Andrew McKnight. These three are my mentors and have been instrumental in my overall success as a business owner. My professor at the college I attended, Dr. Melanie Pavich has been one of my greatest supporters and the person I bounce ideas from.
These four people have made such an impact in my life and set the highest levels of standards that I appreciate, respect and follow in my daily life.
