We had the good fortune of connecting with Taji White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taji, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that taking risks are necessary. With out risk there is no innovation. Taking risks in some cases help to distinguish the leaders from others. Yet, when you’re put in a position to take a major risk, it’s important to make sure it’s calculated and that you have a contingency plan. I can recall several times in my career that I had to step out on faith and make a risky decision. Leaving my corporate job to focus fully on my Financial Firm, and other businesses was probably one of the riskiest decisions I’ve made in my life and I’m glad I did it.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me and True Blue Financials apart from other companies, is the fact that we are accredited to help our clients in almost every aspect of the financial realm. You would usually have to hire different people to help you incorporate your business, help you with investments, help you with credit restoration, help with retirement and taxes. Whereas we are knowledgeable in all those areas. So instead of spreading yourself thin you can hire us to assess your finances comprehensively.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit for a week I’d definitely take them to brunch at Flying Biscuit. If it’s their first time I’d take them to Lennox Mall for the experience, Andretti’s for some go cart racing, food and arcade games. I’d have them try Slutty Vegan or Plant based Pizzeria and/or Vegreen for the Vegan experience. Then depending on what they want to do we might go to a museum, park or lounge.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely, I’ve had the pleasure of having a few mentors in my journey through life. Yet the one that made a huge impact in my financial career is Errol Coutain. Errol’s leadership help catapult my own leadership skills. I was able to sharpen my interpersonal skills, be more resourceful, and better navigate learning the Financial Industry.
