We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydney Jordan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sydney, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am originally an Arkansas native from Little Rock to be specific. I joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 in 2012 and left for training shortly after. Fast-forward four years later, I find myself as a Paralegal/Notary for the Navy Commander in San Diego. Throughout my Paralegal and Notary training, I became increasingly interested in Wills and Living Trusts especially after my grandfather passed away in 2016. There was a lot of bickering and disagreements about his estate because he did not have a Living Trust. This is when I started to educate myself about Living Trusts. Once I was comfortable enough to explain them, I started to educate my family and friends about Living Trusts and their benefits. The most beneficial feature of this document is the fact that property can be transferred to the heirs immediately, and the family can avoid the probate process entirely. The probate process is basically when the court system/judge is given the authority/power to control the deceased’s assets. I wanted to educate my peers and give the power back to the deceased’s loved ones. I knew that retaining assets within the family was important and inevitable for generating generational wealth. Soon after, I began offering “Living Trusts” as a service after I successfully put my father’s home into one. I found that most attorney offices charge thousands of dollars to generate a Living Trust, but I wanted to make my service affordable to everyone by charging a few hundred.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sydney’s Signings, LLC is a Paralegal and Notary service business that serves Atlanta and neighboring sub-cities. I am a credentialed GA Paralegal with five years of experience and specialize in Civil Law processes, statutes, and forms. As a freelance Paralegal, I help my clients with Legal Document Preparation and Notary services. When they are in a legal situation sometimes, it can be daunting, especially the paperwork required. I take the stress away from my clients and do this part for them. They tell me whatever situation they are in, whether that be a separation, divorce, power of attorney, establishing paternity, or child support declaration and I provide the documents they need to fill out and walk them through the process. My clients are empowered because they understand they don’t’ necessarily need to hire a lawyer to navigate these documents, only a little guidance and that is exactly what I’m here for. I’m known for providing and drafting affordable Living Trusts and Legal Document Preparation services to my community and educating them throughout the whole process. Many notaries do not provide these services, but my legal background affords me the opportunity to use those same skills to help my community. I want the readers to know that I offer Paralegal and Notary services in the Atlanta area and would love to assist them and their community with their legal needs. If I can not help, I will steer them in the right direction and show them where and how they can get help.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes! I’d like to dedicate my ShoutOut to the Georgia Notary Network, formally known as (GaNN)! They have really helped shaped my development personally and professionally.
