We had the good fortune of connecting with Superstar DJ ROS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Superstar, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve been a serial entrepreneur for my entire life. Everything from the DJ business I’ve run for decades, the online coaching program that I launched as a response to Covid shutdowna, and streetwear brand that I’m building via social media are all extensions of interests that I turned into businesses.

At this point, it is almost second nature.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m hard to fit into a soundbite as different people know me & interact with me via different disciplines.

To some, I’m a DJ. To others, I’m a coach/mentor. I’m also a songwriter and producer; a streetwear designer; a first time author & public speaker; and a mental health advocate & philanthropist.

My motto is to live full and die empty. The challenge associated with such thinking and ambition is that is difficult at times to find your tribe. That has been a life long challenge.

Still, with that stated, I how found that intentional movements and an open mouth (asking for the help you need) have been the best manner in which to battle such & push forward.

In regards to my brand story, I want people to see that I am a fearless dreamer. THAT is the “ROS” brand in a soundbite actually.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is a GREAT question as there are a number of places in Atlanta and surrounding areas that I love.

First, in the a.m., we are heading to the Beltline to get a morning walk in before the southern heat kicks in. I LOVE this addition to the city, especially the area near Ponce City Market.

After the walk & subsequent costume change, it’s time for breakfast and any nearby location of the Flying Biscuit works for me.

Next, my favorite: The Georgia Aquarium. Nuff said.

After a bit of time with the fish, we make the sojourn OTP to Avalon in Alpharetta for some shopping and lunch & possibly a movie at Regal.

At some point, I’m sure a nap or some down time kicks in. So, my condo in midtown serves as a great place for the breather.

Once it’s dinner time, it’s on to the rooftop of Nile Mile Station THEN the nightcap at the infamous Clairmont Lounge.

Hard day to beat in the A.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think that the person that I would shout out would be my late dad who was a DJ as well. Without those records being in the house & his expressed love of music, I have no idea where my life may have gone.
