We had the good fortune of connecting with Shenetra Franklin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shenetra, how do you define success?
Success to me is being able to wake up in the morning and decide what I want to do with my day. It’s not punching a clock because that’s the only way that I can provide a living for myself and my family. It’s the freedom to do what I want, when I want, within reason, because I have the financial independence to do so. If I wake up and decide, I want to go to Paris today, that’s just what I do. If I decide to create email campaigns for my business for the entire quarter, that’s just what I do. If I decide to have a lazy day and do absolutely nothing, that’s just what I do. If I decide to spend the day learning a new craft or mastering a business technique, that’s just what I do. Success to me is achieving freedom.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am definitely a foodie and wine enthusiast so a best friend visit would start and end with food and wine. My favorite restaurant in Atlanta is Bones Restaurant hands down. The steak literally melts in your mouth! We would most definitely have a reservation. We would also have to venture up to Château Élan Winery & Resort for a wine tour and spa day. You can never go wrong with a little rest and relaxation.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my Aunt, Annette Elizabeth Franklin. She recently passed from Covid-19. I would like to think that she played a significant role in my love for reading. In her heyday, she was the librarian at UIC. I would go to work with her and spend the day imagining what I wanted to be in life. Browsing the internet and leafing through book after book. She had a small library of her own at home. She would require that I read everyday and offer up suggestions. I had the pleasure of enjoying so many books that I would not have otherwise chosen. Her nurturing my love to read has impacted my life to this day. I am an avid reader, a graduate degree holder, and a lifetime student. I seek out knowledge through reading everyday that helps advance my business and life in general. She was a special person to me. Rest in heaven, Auntie Annette.
