We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Bevan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
One thing most people don’t realize about the balloon industry is the level of skill and strategy that goes into every setup. It’s not just about blowing up balloons and tying them together—there’s an art to color theory, design balance, and even engineering to ensure installations are structurally sound and long-lasting. Plus, factors like weather, venue restrictions, and material quality all play a huge role in execution. A well-done balloon installation is a mix of creativity and technical expertise, and that’s something I love showcasing through Bold.atl.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Bold.atl is all about creating unforgettable moments through high-quality, creative balloon designs. What sets us apart is our attention to detail, bold aesthetics, and commitment to making every event feel unique and personalized. We don’t just create balloon installations—we craft experiences that elevate celebrations and bring joy to our clients.

I’m incredibly proud of how far Bold.atl has come, and I’m especially excited about the growth and new opportunities ahead. But getting here wasn’t easy. Starting a business requires resilience, creativity, and a willingness to adapt. There were times when I doubted myself or faced challenges like learning pricing, managing logistics, and balancing the demands of entrepreneurship. But I pushed through by staying focused, continuously learning, and leaning on the support of my community.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success doesn’t happen overnight. It takes consistency, hard work, and a genuine love for what you do. I want the world to know that Bold.atl is more than just a balloon business—it’s about bringing joy, celebrating life’s moments, and pushing creative boundaries. My journey is proof that when you take a leap of faith and stay committed to your vision, amazing things can happen.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That’s a funny question because, honestly, I don’t get out much at all—I’m always busy with work and kids! So if my best friend came to visit, we’d probably be figuring out the city together. Maybe we’d start with something classic, like the Georgia Aquarium. From there, we’d just wing it—probably hit up a great restaurant, walk the BeltLine, and see where the day takes us. Honestly, it would be an adventure for both of us!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give a huge shoutout to my sister, Emily. She started doing balloons in Oklahoma, and if it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t have even thought about starting my own business. Watching her build something creative and successful inspired me to take that leap, and she’s been such a source of guidance and encouragement along the way. From sharing tips to being my biggest cheerleader, she’s played a huge role in my journey with Bold.atl, and I’m so grateful for her support.
