We had the good fortune of connecting with Sancy Byrd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sancy, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was so scared I thought about all the bad things that could happen in the process. I thought that everything I did was a bad idea. I was so afraid to put my funds into my business, the next morning I woke up and said you know what I’m going to bet on me and threw fear out of the window an began to jump in making sure I take my time and cherish every step of the process of me getting ready to give life to my vision. First, I was like I can’t do this is too much I have cried many days and nights thinking what I got myself into. No matter what I continue to push myself like never, I went days with no sleep and when I notice how much work I put in I looked up one day and noticed. My small business hit my first 1K in sales with only being in business 10 months. what a blessing that was, Now I will be in business for a 1-year November 11, 2021, and I’m still in disbelief, but excited in the same. my inventory went from 35 to 125, anything is possible if you just believe in yourself and put in the work. If you ask me, would I, do it all over again the answer would be yes. Your future millionaire Sancy Byrd owner of Mafia Minks.
What should our readers know about your business?
Mafia Minks shines her own light being a small business that currently carries 25 different styles and lengths of lashes, which causes me to stand out. I’m proud of myself for coming this far and getting ready to hit my 1-year mark as a business owner. The easy part for me was registering my business and receiving my business license. One lesson that I have learned along my journey is strangers will be your biggest supporters, also you will lose friendships in the process, but it will make you strong and look at it this way everyone is not meant to be on this journey with. I want you to know that Mafia Minks is here to stay, and you will remember my name. Welcome to the mob.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I’m still fresh here in Atlanta but I do enjoy Houston’s very good food, For the rest google would be my best friend or find some ideas from Instagram, or maybe even TikTok.
