We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrina McGuire and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sabrina, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
The only answer is to keep going. There was a reason why you started and you need to finish it. During the process it may get a bit hard or things may not be going as planned but, it’s a marathon not a race. Keep going, keep pushing, and keep being consistent with whatever you’re doing. The hard will pay off.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s really crazy how life works actually, I started my business in June 2020 during the pandemic. I was laid off from my 9-5 in March. During that time we were in quarantine and I was literally just sitting at home everyday doing NOTHING. One day I decided that I need to make more money on the everyday basis. So I invested into my business and launched in June. Looking back the easiest part of having your own business is starting it. Maintaining it is the hardest part when you’re a small business owner. I am my own content creator, marketing, buying inventory, etc I don’t have a team doing the little things that play a huge role in my business. The lessons I’ve learned during this whole process and still learning is Don’t rush the process.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In the transition of becoming a full blown influencer my family thought it was a waste of time and I would not be able to make money or have any type of impact. The only person that kept me going and determined to make my thoughts into a reality was God. No one understood or could see my vision except me. God helped me keep my faith in myself and my goals when no one else did. Although I am no where near where I want to be in life but I am a whole lot closer than where I started.
