We had the good fortune of connecting with Rossa Skywalka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rossa, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I started pursuing a creative career in music because I love the creative side of it and being able to write & record my truest feelings is a form of therapy for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My music is different because I have my own sound and create a frequency No other artist can. My personality, my wittiness & my adlibs is what sets me apart from others. I’m excited about the future and becoming a bigger and better artist. I got where I am professionally by never giving up and always overcoming adversity. The road to success is not easy but I learned that I can’t do it all by myself & it’s ok to rely on my team for help. I want the world to know that I put my joy, pain & soul in my music in hopes to inspire others. I want the world to know I was the underdog the one they treated like the runt but never did I stop, I made a mark

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friends visit the area we definitely have to hit up Pappadeaux. Catch a concert or comedy show at the Fox Theater. Depending on what time of year we would go to a sporting event.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank and shout out my uncle Floyd, my cousins Ricky and Rus, my grandma and granddad for all their love and support. I can say that’s my support system
