Meet Ross Turner | Credit Educator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ross Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ross, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Financial literacy is one of the most overlooked subjects in our education system. At Glynn Street Credit Services, our mission is to provide students and families with practical financial education that prepares them for real-world success. We work with schools, libraries, and community organizations to introduce credit, budgeting, and personal finance concepts that are rarely taught in traditional classrooms. Our focus is on understanding rather than exploitation—empowering people with knowledge so they can make informed financial decisions, build generational wealth, and create opportunities for themselves and their communities. We believe education is one of the most powerful tools for reducing economic inequality and helping individuals take control of their financial future.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Glynn Street Credit Services was founded on a simple belief: financial literacy should be accessible to everyone. Too many people are denied opportunities—not because they lack potential, but because nobody ever taught them how credit works. Our mission is to bridge that gap through education, mentorship, and practical guidance that empowers people to take control of their financial future.
What sets us apart is our education-first approach. While many companies focus solely on selling credit repair services, we focus on teaching people how the system works so they can make informed decisions for themselves. Through workshops, online courses, study materials, one-on-one coaching, and community outreach, we help individuals understand credit, build stronger financial habits, and create long-term financial stability. We believe knowledge should be shared, not hidden behind expensive paywalls.
My journey to creating Glynn Street Credit Services was anything but easy. After graduating from Full Sail University with a degree in Music Business and working throughout Atlanta’s music industry, I saw firsthand how many talented individuals struggled to fund their goals because they lacked financial education. Life presented its own challenges and setbacks, but those experiences taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of creating opportunities where none seem to exist. Instead of allowing adversity to define me, I used it as motivation to build something that could positively impact others.
One of the lessons I’ve learned along the way is that information changes lives. When people understand how credit works, they gain access to better housing, lower interest rates, business funding, transportation, and opportunities that may have once felt impossible. Financial education is not just about money—it’s about freedom, confidence, and creating options for yourself and your family.
What I’m most proud of is our commitment to serving the community. Through free workshops at libraries, educational materials, and outreach initiatives, Glynn Street Credit Services continues to provide resources that help people improve their financial situations regardless of their starting point. We strive to lead with service rather than exploitation.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about my brand, it’s this: we are educators first. Our goal is not simply to help people improve their credit scores; it’s to help them understand the financial system well enough to become their own advocate, their own lender, and ultimately their own source of opportunity. Knowledge separates limitations from possibilities, and through education, we aim to help people unlock their full potential.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta for a week, I’d want them to experience the city the way locals do—not just the tourist attractions, but the places that showcase Atlanta’s culture, history, food, and community.
One of our first stops would be Just Around The Corner on Ted Turner Drive. It’s one of those places where good food, good people, and great conversation come together. From there, we’d spend time exploring Downtown Atlanta, taking in the energy, diversity, and entrepreneurial spirit that makes the city unique.
I’d also take them south to Fayetteville for a meal at Papa Lou’s Kitchen, one of my favorite local restaurants. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is welcoming, and it captures the small-town hospitality that makes Fayette County special.
For entertainment, we’d head down to Fayetteville and spend an evening at Studio Cafe, enjoying live dinner bands and local musicians. The atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming, and showcases the incredible talent that can be found throughout South Metro Atlanta. Music has always been one of the region’s strongest cultural influences, and Studio Cafe provides the perfect setting to enjoy great food while listening to talented performers.
Afterward, we’d make our way back into Atlanta for a walk through Downtown or along Northside Drive near Mercedes-Benz Stadium. I enjoy taking visitors there because it provides a unique opportunity to tell the story of Atlanta’s transformation. You can literally stand between the old and new city. The area reflects decades of history, growth, redevelopment, and cultural change. It’s a chance to discuss the Atlanta that existed before the stadium, before the new high-rises, and before much of the revitalization that has reshaped the city. Understanding that history gives visitors a deeper appreciation for Atlanta’s resilience, evolution, and significance in the South.
When it’s time to slow things down, we’d visit Cascade Springs Nature Preserve, one of Atlanta’s hidden gems. The preserve offers beautiful wooded trails, peaceful scenery, and a chance to escape the pace of city life. It’s the perfect place to recharge and appreciate the natural beauty that exists right in the heart of a major metropolitan area.
Throughout the week, we’d also spend time meeting local business owners, artists, musicians, and entrepreneurs who make Atlanta such a dynamic place to live. What makes Atlanta special isn’t just its landmarks—it’s the people. The city is filled with creators, dreamers, and innovators from every background imaginable, all contributing to a culture that values ambition, authenticity, and community.
For me, the best part of Atlanta isn’t found on a map. It’s the stories, the history, the food, the music, and the people. Whether you’re walking through Downtown, listening to live music in Fayetteville, hiking a nature trail, or sharing a meal with friends, Atlanta has a way of making people feel connected. That’s the experience I’d want my best friend to leave with after spending a week here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Success is never a solo journey. Every accomplishment, lesson, setback, and victory in my life has been influenced by people who believed in me, supported me, challenged me, and loved me through every season. This shoutout is dedicated to a few individuals and communities who have played a meaningful role in my story.
Jordan Starks — My best friend since middle school and, truthfully, more of a sister than a friend. Jordan has consistently motivated and inspired me to reach heights I never imagined possible. Through her friendship, I learned that love exists in many forms beyond romance. She taught me loyalty, consistency, and what it means to truly show up for the people you care about. If you’re looking for an incredibly talented hairstylist, be sure to support her work at @looksbysemone.
Ramon Hutchins — My best male friend since middle school. Ramon embodies unwavering loyalty and support. He’s been there for me during moments when I wasn’t even there for myself. He has a rare gift for absorbing negative energy and replacing it with perspective, laughter, and hope. One conversation with him can make life’s biggest worries feel manageable. Everyone deserves a friend like Ramon.
My Mother, Dr. Cynthia Simmons Turner — A living example of resilience, sacrifice, and perseverance. Raised on a farm in the small town of Monticello, she overcame obstacles that would have broken many people. She navigated divorce, betrayal, the loss of her sister, and the challenges of raising three children as a single mother. Despite it all, she continued pushing forward, earning her doctorate and building a life defined by strength and purpose. Her story reminds me daily that no circumstance is greater than determination. If you’re into line dancing and positive energy, be sure to follow her Facebook page, Cynthia Simmons Turner.
Dazia Kendall — First and foremost, happy belated birthday to a truly special young woman. Dazia holds a special place in my heart. An avid reader, devoted plant collector, and rising accountant, she has always carried herself with intelligence, grace, and ambition. Originally from Winter Park and now making her mark in Brooklyn, New York, she is a shining example of what happens when talent meets discipline. Her journey is only beginning, and there is no telling how far her gifts will take her. The future is bright for her.
To My Brothers and Sisters in Palestine — My prayers are with every innocent man, woman, and child facing oppression, displacement, and loss. May Allah grant you strength, protection, and liberation from your surrounding circumstances. May peace replace conflict, and may justice prevail for those who continue to endure unimaginable hardship.
To the Nation of Gods and Earths in Harlem, New York — Thank you for your commitment to educating the youth and preserving the principle of “Each One, Teach One.” In a world where knowledge is often withheld, your dedication to community empowerment continues to make a difference. Thank you for investing in the next generation and reminding our people that education remains one of our greatest tools for liberation. Peace, God. I’ll be up there shortly.
Finally, to everyone who has ever encouraged me, corrected me, supported me, prayed for me, or believed in me when I couldn’t see my own potential—thank you. None of us reach our destination alone. Your fingerprints are on my journey, and I am forever grateful. Peace and love to all. ✊🏾❤️
