Meet Rosheka Davis | Divine being, entrepreneur, poet, speaker of truth, author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosheka Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rosheka, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
The reasonable man adapts to the world; the unreasonable man persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable Man. ~George Bernard Shaw~
Stop trying to fit in. Stop looking for validation. Stop looking for celebration. You are in this world not of this world. You are different. Let them into your world. They don’t define your elevation you do.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have been writing my whole life only to now share my thoughts with the world. Once I realized they were not for me only because my experiences were someone else’s experience. I am different for I allow the flow to come to me, I just hear it and write it then when I go back and read it I feel it. Soul glow you know. As the artist I know I am just the vessel. I use to compare myself to other poets/writers because I felt as though my thoughts weren’t long enough lol. Then I realized that my words are quick and powerful. Simplicity. Realistically. I just had to step out here on faith lol scared, uncertain, confused, broke, sad, mental gentle, lost, but had a little faith. Little faith turns to big faith once you start exercising that muscle. The lesson I learned was to trust God. I want to be known for never giving up on the God in me. Love wins always. Make the world peaceful again. I had to start with myself. My mentor Nipsey Hussle said it best: “Would you rather be at peace with the world and at war with yourself? Or be at war with the world and at peace with yourself? I found peace.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a South Carolinian lol so I would first take them to my city, where I’m from. Gaston South Carolina/ Swansea and tell my Aunt Effie Lou I’m pulling up with company and pray she whip us up some Mac and cheese with fried chicken and her cornbread. I’m from Happy Town, we love to make our guest happy. Big hospitality fosho. We would definitely have to hit up Music Monday at MoBay2 to check out the unexpected experience the vibes are dope and good food and drink specials. It’s like Cheers. We would have to check out an Allen University women’s basketball game they are very electrifying to watch. Check out a few dope brewery’s in the city, South Carolina is really growing in that area. We would go hangout with Dawn Staley and the Lady Gamecocks basketball practice and meet her after. All things South Carolina Indie Artist alllllllll day I’m an artist man lol. We definitely would have a great time high vibrations for sure.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost shout out to Big G(God) for keeping me in perfect peace, life, health and strength. Thank you to all of heart breaks and pains that led me closer to the God in me. Thank you God for aligning me with the love of this life’s existence, my beloved Latifa Tucker for allowing me and encouraging me to make time and space for healing in my life. Thank you to my therapist. Thank you to Les Brown for giving me a safe space to develop in Hungry to Speak. Lastly much gratitude to my life Coach Devon Coleman.
