We had the good fortune of connecting with Riah Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Riah, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always had an eye for things. When I was younger I would experiment with photography, videography, and video editing all from my bedroom. At the time, it was just something I did for fun studying different angles, editing styles, and capturing moments as I saw them. It wasn’t something I ever thought would turn into a career, but as I continued to grow, I realized how much passion I had for the final product. I began to share my work online and with friends and family, and this led to them wanting me to do small jobs and gigs for them. When I started receiving positive feedback, it sparked something for me. Through these experiences I realized that this didn’t have to just be a hobby, it was something I could pursue further. That’s when I decided to launch Ri.Creatives and turn my passion into a business.

Being in the creative space has been an incredible journey. It’s such an infinite world, with constantly new and exciting ways to capture the world and tell stories. I’m constantly inspired by the endless possibilities of what can be achieved. While starting and continuing can be discouraging at times, I reach for new opportunities to experiment and push the boundaries of my talents. It keeps me on my toes and always wanting to create something even more special.

One thing I’ve come to appreciate is that creativity knows no bounds. In such a rapidly moving and expansive space, there are always things to explore, techniques to learn, and stories to tell. What’s truly amazing about the creative field is that you never really stop learning or growing. The more you see, the more you see how much potential there is in your own projects. It’s not just about hitting a button, it’s about capturing the essence of a moment, the emotion behind it, and bringing that to life in a way that resonates with people.

That’s what drives me in my everyday. To show the world through my eyes with my lens and to always be pushing myself to create something new and meaningful to someone, even if its just myself. The possibilities of what you can do through media are truly endless, and I’m excited to continue exploring what’s next for Ri.Creatives and the stories I get to help tell.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Getting to where I am today took a lot of patience and effort. There were countless times when I felt things weren’t working out or my work wasn’t good enough. I’ve learned not to be so hard on myself, and I’ve realized how important it is to reach out to your community and explore paths you might be unsure about. It’s easy to feel like everyone else is doing a better job than you, but instead of letting that discourage me, I use it as motivation to improve and make my brand stand out. I can’t be afraid to step into spaces that might feel unfamiliar. You never know what doors they might open.

It’s easy to look around and feel like everyone else is doing better than you. Instead of holding on to that, use it to push yourself further and make your brand stand out. While the journey takes time and recognition doesn’t happen overnight try not to fall into temporary trends or change your rand entirely. Consistency and authenticity will always set you apart.

For anyone starting, my advice is to focus on your passion and stay true to it. The road may be tough, and you’ll face a lot of self doubt, but you must trust the process and yourself to keep pushing through. When you love what you do, your clients will feel that. Many of my clients feel vulnerable in front of the camera, and that’s when it’s most important to use your eye, your social skills, and your creativity to show them in their best light. Remember, the possibilities are endless and there’s so much you can create when you stay focused and believe in your journey. Above all, don’t be afraid to take those first steps, even if you’re unsure or think something is just a hobby. Every small gig, every piece of feedback, and every challenge is a stepping stone toward your bigger goals.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was staying with me in Atlanta I would start every morning with a good coffee at one of my favorite shops in Virginia Highlands, PERC. Next, we would hit up a few of the local bookstores around there. Just walking along the streets of the city soaking up the atmosphere and exploring the neighborhood. Sometime later in the week if we are feeling adventurous we would take a small drive to the Starlight Theater and enjoy a movie right from the car. I think it’s a really unique experience and many don’t know it’s only right up the road from the city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would definitely want to thank my family and close friends. As I’ve stated before, They were the ones who put their trust in me and gave me those first few opportunities to show what I can do. Without them and their feedback, I never would have realized my passion.

Especially my mom. She has always been extremely supportive, even when she probably thought it was just a phase, she always went all out getting me what I needed and helping me along the way. Even now she gets excited for any and everything I tell her about my business. She is gonna be thrilled when she reads this, Hi Mom!

The many, many YouTube channels and videos that I used to figure out the technical side of things. Of course, I had a vision but I didn’t know where to start. Like many others, I taught myself most of what I know. I’m very grateful that the tools and resources to create to my fullest potential were so easy to access.

My fellow creative peers. They have helped me grow my skills while working on many projects together and over recent years I’m very proud of what we have and will create together.

All of the clients that have put their faith in me to bring their vision to life. I would be just a girl with a dream without each and every one of you.
