We had the good fortune of connecting with Phylicia Brinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Phylicia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting Omnifisense was based around authenticity and freedom. We wanted to create a company that resonated with us and had a good purpose. It was important to us to create quality products that lasted and had a positive meaning. We also wanted to work for ourselves and we knew that Omnifisense was a great way to achieve that goal.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our brand was established in 2019 and is based around comfort. It began in a college dorm room from a drawing and has blossomed into greatness. It is our goal to create a space of tranquility in a stylish way and expand upon the comfort of all who experience our apparel. The logo for Omnifisense includes the first four letters of our brand name, OMNI, combined as one. The slogan for our brand is “Consistent Comfort for The Senses.” We chose this slogan because we believe that when all the senses are soothed you are truly at peace. What sets us apart from other brands is that we are not in competition with other companies, we believe that everyone can be successful simultaneously. Staying true to who we are, what we do, and why we do it will always set us apart because authenticity can’t be duplicated. When it comes to challenges, I think the main one that any business owner must work through is having the courage to put your creations out there. The best way to overcome that challenge is to just do it and that is one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from this experience. It is better to try than to never know.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to Krog Street Market because I’m a foodie, they have a lot of vegan options, and I just love the vibes there. I’d also take them to Ponce City Market because of the great food options and places to shop at. Other great food spots that I’d show them are Herban Fix, Slutty Vegan, and Grass VBQ Joint.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my mom and sister. They are both amazing women and I feel like they have definitely helped me find my way in life.
