We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikki, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Growing up I spent a lot of time with my grandmother. You can say my siblings and I practically lived with her due to my parents working all the time to try to provide a better life for us. My parents believe in making a living by having a 9 to 5, but I also witness my grandmother being an entrepreneur. She had a few businesses. When I remanence on it, I feel like Spirit was showing me two different paths that I could choose from. Of course I chose the 9-5, thinking I would just follow in my parents footsteps. Shortly afterwards, I came to the conclusion that I didn’t want to work for any one else. I will always appreciate their guidance, but I had to decide to do what’s best for me. That was to follow in my grandmother’s footsteps being an entrepreneur. My grandmother had a sassiness about her, but she was free, respected, and will take anyone in as her own. She had a unique nurturing essence . She will tell you about yourself (laughing), but you will never leave her house empty handed whether it was food, vegetables from her garden, a pair of shoes, plants, or some wisdom. She was loved by so many people. I went on to obtain my cosmetology license because I loved creating with my hands and making people feel and look beautiful. I styled hair for a few years, but I lost the desire to do hair. I went on a roller coaster of baking cakes, sewing clothes, and even decorating parties just to still feel overwhelmed and unfulfilled. I lost my desire to do anything when it came to my businesses, but I still had the desire to create and help people. I decided to just take a break from everything, and focus on me more. It was late 2017, when I was going through my spiritual awakening. I started my spiritual journey to seek out who I was as an individual as well as the background of my family. Growing up, I knew I was always different. I had the ability to know things before they happened, and I had the gift to see my passed love ones. What I didn’t know is how my spiritual gifts will impact my life for the better. The earliest I can remember experiencing my gifts was at the age of 5. I use to ask my grandmother questions , but she will always tell me “When it’s meant for you to know, you will get your answers”. With her being deceased now, I was very limited about the things I was experiencing at the time, and with the information about my family spiritual practices. I came across some metaphysical books, videos, and a few classes that gave me insight on what I was experiencing, and what I could finally call my gifts. That’s when The Beauty Of Clarity was born. I still had love for the beauty industry and fashion, but more love to help guide people on their spiritual journey. Especially individuals like me who have gifts, but not fortunate to have elders in their family to teach them about their spiritual gifts. I knew how lost I felt going through this process, and how I wished I had someone to help guide me. I created The Beauty Of Clarity to help individuals who are on their spiritual journey to self discovery, self-transformation, and self-healing. The memories that I have of my grandmother working in her garden growing herbs and other plants to make tonics, laying in her bed while sick then automatically feel better, helping people in the community, giving them guidance inspired me to do the same. I now can help others through my intuitive readings, mediumship, spiritual advisory, and botanical products. Sometimes we need that little nudge to help us plant that seed so we can bloom into our true authentic selves. Someone to show us that everything has its beauty, including clarity. That someone is me.

What should our readers know about your business?
The Beauty Of Clarity was created to help people who are on or about to start their spiritual journey. It is a safe space created for women and men who needs help with developing their intuitive gifts, self discovery, self transformation, and self healing. I never imagined it would be as big as it is now, but that’s a lesson that Spirit had something bigger than my vision. I wanted people to be part of a community that will nurture their spirit for healing. I wanted them to be comfortable to open up, heal, grow, and develop spiritual tools that will help them navigate through their journey. I am able to do this by guiding them through my intuitive readings, mediumship, energy healing sessions, spiritual advisory, and botanical aromatherapy products. This wasn’t an easy process for me at first because you have so many opinions of how spiritual practices should look like. Starting out, I was definitely hesitant about putting myself out there; afraid of the responses that I will receive. With my support system, I was able to get over that fear quickly. We are all unique individuals. There is no one way of doing things. The beautiful thing about tapping into your creative energy is that you can create multiple ways to get the same results. I enjoy finding ways that may have a traditional foundation, but putting my imprint on it so that it can evolve and add to what was left behind by my ancestors. I’m most proud of allowing myself to walk this path so that I can help others. Letting them know that it’s ok to go down a path different from other people. To embrace self acceptance with no judgment so that they can live their life in the most authentic way possible. My goal is to help my clients perceive who they are with clarity. I believe it will lead them more into self-love, self awareness, and self acceptance. I’m always excited about the stories my clients tell me. How they achieved a goal that they thought was unachievable, how they fought depression and now they’re in a better space, how they met the love of their life or was able to replenish their relationships, how they came into some good fortunes. The list goes on. So many people are suffering in silence and alone. I want them to know that they don’t have to and that there is place for them here at The Beauty Of Clarity community. It’s important that they know no matter how ugly they may perceive things; everything has its beauty……including clarity.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well we will definitely have to go to the book store. Barnes and Noble or a local one. During the day we will visit The Black Hair Experience, Atlanta Botanical Garden, the illuminarium Atlanta, Just Add Honey tea shop, and Phoenix and Dragon bookstore. This to just name a few. As far as food, I like a relax and chilled environment. We will go eat at Big Dave’s cheesesteaks for their egg rolls, Kobe’s steakhouse, Salata, and Las Trojas Cantina. I will also plan a more intimate event at my home. I will book a sip-n-paint with Juspaint. They have a bomb setup where you can paint and have a picnic in the comfort of your own home. Also I would book us a facial from The Natural Glow Spa. She’s amazing as well. Simplicity is everything for me. During the night, we will definitely hit up Views Bar and lounge. They play different genres of music, and their food is delicious. I also like Vista Vibes Atlanta restaurant. A nice poetry event or club. That’s a must.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my grandmother Liza. Thank you for teaching me to be free spirited, limitless, and to be ok with going down a path that is best for me. I will always love you for that. To my parents, for accepting and supporting me of taking a different path than normal. You never made me feel less than. To my sister Keasha, for always reminding me no matter what I do I will always have those gifted hands. To my friends (Tab, Kendra, and Geneia) thank you for your support, listening, and trying to understand my different transitions in life. To my love, Timothy. Thank you for listening, supporting, and helping me. When I doubted myself, you was always there to let me know that this path was destined for me. I’m forever grateful for all the individuals who has helped me on this journey, even if I didn’t mention your name.
