We had the good fortune of connecting with Nasseea Rudolph and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nasseea, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued a creative career because the regular career wasn’t leaving me with the life that I envision for my family. I don’t want to spend 30-40 years working somewhere to only get some free gear and a picture for the hardest working employee. I need that life where I can be able to grind and make things happen for my family while also being able to enjoy the labor I put into making sure my family was good.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud of my ability to become a mother and be a GREAT mother at that, some days its hard but I put my all into it everyday. If I ever fall short my daughter gives me grace and it humbles me because she reminds me that I don’t have to be a supermom I just have to show up and be her mom. I got to where I am today by taking myself seriously and reminding myself that there are people out there like me who need to be reminded we are worth the extra effort. We get one life to live don’t waste it thinking that you have nothing to give. With that being said I’m a recovering people pleaser so now the love and effort that I poured into everyone else. I give that to me and it shows in how I’m viewed in the world and how I view myself. I want the world to know that I’m here to show other moms, other women, other people like me that they need to pour into themselves so our children will know what self love feels like.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was coming into town and I wanted to show them a good time, I would take them to one of my favorite wings spots called Smokey Bones where they have the best wings and a bag of donuts that will have you like man the extra weight I just gained is all worth it.
Then we would go and hang out at the house and take a walk around the neighborhood before ordering some take out and having some wine coolers while we enjoy a karaoke and singing night. When we wake up I would say lets go get some coffee and bagels hitting up Dunkin Donuts while picking up some donuts for the kids. I love to hang out with my family and friends and just spend quality time playing board games, watching movies and singing our favorite songs.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is hard because I feel there are so many people on my journey that have helped push me in the right direction and making sure I don’t sleep on myself and my potential. I want to thank my girlfriend Taz who has always been in my corner and pushed me to do the things I want to do and not just survive and die. I want to thank my longtime friend Jordan Lawson who has helped me break down the parts of myself that resonate while being comfortable in my own skin. I am thankful for all of my family who have supported me along my journey even when I come at them with thirty different ways I want to live my life. They are all supportive in their own way but those are two people who have been hands on in me becoming more authentic in myself allowing it to show in my content and helping me reach that next level as a content creator.
