We had the good fortune of connecting with NaQwanna Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi NaQwanna, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I want my legacy to be that I lived a life pleasing to Christ. I want every decision that I make for my family, for my business, for my life to be led by God. I want people to remember that I am woman grounded in faith and who is walking in the will God has for my life. I want my business to speak for who God is and what he can do in your life when you totally surrender it to him.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I launched my styling firm during the pandemic. It wasn’t easy to jump out there because I doubted myself. I asked myself these exact questions: What makes me different? What sets me apart? But I remembered that God made me fearfully and wonderfully. And that my voice had value in this industry. It wasn’t easy finding my footing, and there will continue to be growing pains along the way. However, I’m committed to doing the work, the work it takes to leave an impact on every person that I style. I’ve learned that it’s ok to learn from others. To ask for support, get advice, take a class, read a book, join a program. Get the help! There is absolutely nothing wrong with learning and asking for help in areas that you aren’t knowledgeable of. I want the world to know that Styled by Naq is a brand committed to helping individuals find their authentic style. I believe in being Comfortably Confident. People are their best selves when they are Comfortable and that level of being comfortable will bring out confidence that they never knew existed. It will allow them to be able to walk into rooms and know they’re meant to be there. I endeavor to provide that for each one of my clients.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh wow! There are soo many great places to visit in Atlanta. Listen, my friends love to enjoy a great meal. I don’t think I have specific places I would go but I search for great atmospheres. Is there a new brunch place? What’s the vibe? Main question, do they have some good music? Ha
We love to dance while we enjoy a great meal.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout definitely goes to the Lord. I wouldn’t be where I am without God in my life. My husband definitely deserves a little credit as well, haha
He has covered and supported me for years. He knows exactly what I am capable of achieving. And he will push me! He won’t let me go for less than what he knows I deserve. And my children, they don’t know that just their very existence has pushed me to start my business. To leave a legacy for them that they can be proud of.
