We had the good fortune of connecting with Mone’ Campbell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mone’, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
A principle I place at the forefront of my life is self- preservation. The term self-preservation encompasses the set behavior of an individuals’ attempt to preserve their own existence as well as psychological processes. Preserving your own existence simply means putting yourself first selfishly. Society has conditioned us to believe that in order to be selfish we must neglect the livelihood of others. While this may be true in some cases, the word selfish has become subjected to negative attributes, that are overrated in my opinion. When you become selfish you are connecting with your inner child as well as developing yourself within adulthood. The moment we study ourselves internally truly living in the present moment, we are able to shed the projections that have been placed on us. Focusing on yourself gives you room to grow, space to flow, and the fundamental tools to preserve your true identity. Who we pour into and who we allow to pour into us is selfish, as rightfully so.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an artist/creative touching bases of many areas. My art can be seen through many forms such as: modeling, artwork, and artisan jewelry. What sets me apart from others is my spiritual background in which I pour into any piece or project that I am working on. I take pride in allowing my artistic compass to navigate within the spiritual rim of positivity and manifestation. It was not easy to step out as a model or an artist. I saw so many talented individuals around me that I doubted myself a lot along the way, until one day I realized that being unique was the key to success. I started to focus on my abilities and strength, staying in my own lane not comparing myself to others. The most valuable lesson that I have learned along the way is trusting the process. We live in a microwave society where we feel things are supposed to happen instantaneously, because we see the success of others. Trusting the process does not mean we will not have short comings or face failure, it means when the time is right it will be YOUR time. I want the world to know that my brand TheMone’Collection is rooted in divine favor, spiritual transformation, and faith.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came into the area I would take her to the Georgia Aquarium. There are so many beautiful colors, lights, and of course sea life to explore. We would then have to visit Slutty Vegan for lunch to experience some high quality food. My best friend loves to shop and so do I so we would have to visit the Lenox Square Mall, where we would most likely spend hours shopping.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my mother. She has been the backbone to my entire journey and one of my biggest fans towards what ever avenue or venture I found myself traveling.
