We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Richards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind me and the success of my brand is the love and faith I have for the lord, I truly believe without him none of what I have accomplished thus far would have been possible, I have gone through many highs and many lows and with me not being from here I most certainly have had to jump through some serious obstacles. Through my career I have always managed to keep my head high and known that regardless of my situation my faith has kept me going and God has pulled me through countless times and has guided all my foot steps in keeping me safe and successful. Michaels Mix was created during a crazy time being covid but has truly kept me alive in such difficult, scary yet transforming changing times .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from most brands is the love for people that allows me to give the top quality and OVERstanding in my customers service in being truly authentic and transparent/real with all that come to meet me, I am able to speak to people of all ages and walks of life and in being able to do so guarantees my sales. The true meaning of a serial-preneur is a “creative” being able to create ways of making money and revenue from nothing! I had never mixed a drink in my life until last year march but my gift has literally forged my path and in doing so has opened doors in regards to hosting, motivational speaking and full circle back to my 1st love being dance.

I am most proud of being seen within Atlanta and the growth journey in being respected and loved in this state, being from a small town such as Derby moving though out England to then move to the states and having to move around 25 times most certainly came with its struggles but proud to say I am still here today being as to do interviews by magazines, and people want to continuously collaborate and do business with me. The thing’s I am most excited about are the many rooms that simply being created around myself as a business owner, which is completely different from doors being opened for me, as these opportunities are new and unforeseen by many especially when only living in Atlanta since 2020.

The way I got to where I am today was sheer persistence and work ethic, I have truly worked long and hard day in day out to get to the position I am in now which is truly a miracle but in saying so I didn’t have a choice! My situation was very much so do or die if I did not start to generate income, I tend to say “I literally didn’t choose entrepreneurship it chose me” but one of the best god given blessings to date. It was NOT easy in any way shape or forum, minimal learning an entirely new culture was one thing but after moving around again, getting in fights, being arrested not knowing what was in store for me in creating my own drinks and branding was nerve wrecking but I kept on keeping on. I overcame such hurdles by keeping God at the forefront of it all knowing that he most certainly had a master plan for me, and whatever it was keeping me it gave me sense of peace in times of adversity.

The lessons I have learned along the way:
– That there is no such thing as right or wrong in this world and everyone is doing the best with what they know how in this life time.
– To not judge others by any standard as we all need time to organically grow as everyone circumstances are different.
– Mental health is real and to be sure to practice self care to the best of my ability
– Regardless of whats going on to know that every thing that happens is a learning experience and an opportunity to grow, and its not about the destination it’s about the journey.
– To other be as authentic, real, honest and true to myself regardless of the circumstances, and be sure to always speak out.

I want the world to know firstly I love the lord! I also want everyone to know that what I do is in no way in aid of just my pockets but for the magnification of the kingdom, I want to truly teach people how to circulate and keep our black dollar within ourselves so we can all be free, mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically and most certainly financially. I want the world to know it’s not easy NO! But as Steve Jobs would say “those that are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are those that do”.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would be sure to take them out in the midtown area for sure to get drunk on the rainbow crossing! I most certainly take them to the aquarium, the MLK museum most and to some great food spots.

I am still learning Atlanta because sinceI’ve been here I have worked so many weekends that I haven’t had the opportunity to explore as much as I’d like.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I honestly want all the glory to go too God and no one person in particular, because those that have helped me in my journey regardless of it being an incredible or an awful experience they had there season and reason and was ordained by God to learn and grow from in whatever special way, in learning others it’s allowed me to create a greater OVERstanding of self. One special person I will speak on though is my continuously gracious and loving mother in forever being a strong corner stone to lean on even in times of serious adversity and division no matter how far she has always held me down.
