We had the good fortune of connecting with Maurice “Ayyo Reese” Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maurice “Ayyo Reese”, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Being consistent by maintaining a steady routine. Continuous learning which includes networking with other professionals. Time management by prioritizing tasks to ensure important goals are met and being able to bounce back from setbacks and persist through challenges.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
A few years ago, a friend suggested I had talent and needed an outlet to give my provoking thoughts on life. From Me For Us was born as a bi-weekly podcast that provides takes on cultural, social, and sports issues relatable to the Urban Millennials. What stands out from other Podcasts is that this Podcast is hosted, edited, and produced all by me. It is not easy to create solo Podcast content and juggle life with family so Time Management and weekly Goal Setting is of the upmost importance. The Pod has grown from over the years from audio only to video Podcasts and Call of Duty: Warzone clips both available on YouTube.

Lessons I’ve learned over the years is to not be afraid to post your first episode, your first video upload, your first of anything. The first doesn’t have to be perfect but it has to be done. Push the button! And the more you create, the more you will see and hear the growth in yourself as a creator. You also have to continuously learn about new tools to make things easier for yourself because content creation takes a lot of time and effort.

The From Me For Us Podcast is identified as “vulgar but true, real and never fake” content. While listening you may think to yourself “this guy is hilarious” or “this guy is wild AF.” But if you sit back and really take in what is being said, you will understand who the man is behind the mic and how what’s being said is more relatable than you probably anticipated.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would start off the day at Brunch at Barney’s. In no particular order we would have to check out the Beltline, Fourth Ward Skatepark, the High Art Museum, some shopping at Lenox, Wagyu House in Midtown. Atlanta is such a dope place and there’s so much to see at any given time so I definitely would consider anything my friend has on their own personal list of to do’s as well.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to My Family, all of my brothers from another, my brothers on the No Rules Podcast, all of my Hampton Alum (Especially Onyx 8 Black Diamonds), The Urban Millennials, and any and everyone who has ever supported me in life one way or another. There is no me without you!
