We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Tabor-Seiersen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mary, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important thing is seeing my couples light up the dance floor on their big day! Watching them show off all their hard work and feeling the love and excitement when they share their videos and photos with me is everything. Honestly, sometimes I watch those videos, and my eyes start to water because I’m so proud of them and honored to have been a part of their celebration. It’s moments like those that make it all worth it!

What should our readers know about your business?
I never thought I’d find myself back in the dance world, but I forgot how much I truly loved it until I dove back in. Dancing and teaching allow me to feel my most creative, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share that passion with others. At the beginning of the year, I took a leap of faith and branched off from another company to start my own, trusting it would succeed—and I’ve been so blessed that it has!

The support I’ve received, especially through referrals from past couples, has meant the world to me. When it comes to crafting someone’s first dance, I believe it should always be unique to them. I’ve never given two couples the same choreography because I believe every couple deserves a dance that reflects their personality and style.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh, that’s a hard one—there’s so much to do! If there’s a show at the Fox Theatre, that’s always a must. The theater itself is gorgeous (especially the ceiling!), and it’s such a fun experience. Another great outing is spending a day on the Beltline. It’s perfect for a nice walk, and grabbing a drink or coffee while you explore is a must. For dinner, I absolutely love Poor Calvin’s—the food is so unique and always delicious.

Atlanta is full of amazing things to do, from markets and trivia nights to special events happening almost every day. The options are endless, so there’s always something fun and exciting to check out!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Definitely my mom! She was a dancer herself and owned an amazing studio in my hometown. Even though it wasn’t ballroom—it was more Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and other styles—I’ve been able to take what I learned growing up and mix it with ballroom to create beautiful wedding dances. Watching her run her studio taught me so much about hard work, creativity, and dedication, and it’s been such a huge help as I’ve grown my own business!
