We had the good fortune of connecting with Marcus Rosendoll and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marcus, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

I’ve always had a passion for art and entrepreneurship, which led me to pursue a career in film and media because I wanted to find a job in which I could use my passion for photography and videography.

After entering the media industry and moving my way up the corporate ladder I began to experience all of the “challenges” you can imagine as a young, handsome, and witty black man in an industry dominated by people that don’t look like me.

Because of the lack of support I received to achieve my career goals in the various teams, I was a part of, I felt the need to create a creative space where people that looked like me had the support and resources to be successful.

Thus Veronica Studios was created. Inspired by the woman that raised me, Veronica Rosendoll, who told me “Marcus it’s important to help others because what you give is what you will receive.” That sentiment and others alike that my mother instilled in me are the cornerstone of how I operate my business and as a person. When people ask me what I do I tell them I help people. I help businesses, entrepreneurs, and brands build their brands with creative content while teaching others along the way. With the morals my mother taught me and the talent God gave me, I plan to keep helping everyone I can.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

“The highest human act is to inspire.” – Nipsey Hussle. That is my ultimate goal as a creative, to be an inspiration to others. For me, video production is not only an artistic medium but a tool I use to help mentor young black men throughout life.

I’m blessed to have worked with some of the top fortune 500 companies throughout my career and even won a few awards along the way. But, what I’m most proud of are the people I’ve been able to give opportunities to. This is what truly excites me, creating a successful blueprint for others to follow.

Coming up in my career, I would always think to myself if I just had someone that could show me an example of how to succeed in the business then I’d be set. Then maybe I would have avoided some of the mistakes I made to get to where I am today. Experience is a great teacher, but mentorship is even better. That’s why am so passionate about sharing my knowledge with those that are eager to learn because I understand the value of having a role model.

I want people to not just see me and my company for the amazing work I create, but more so for the lives, I impact along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
It’s funny because one of my good friends recently visited me to attend a financial literacy conference geared towards entrepreneurs. We kicked it around the city for the week while networking and adding to our business acumen. My idle trips are usually ones that mix business with pleasure. Our week consisted of meeting our favorite podcasters and influencers like 19 Keys and Wallstreet Trapper, along with eating at some of my favorite spots around the city, like Views Bar and Grill, Rosie’s Cafe, and Suite Food Lounge. I like all of the black-owned restaurants around the city. It’s important to me to practice group economics, so I target black-owned restaurants when I want a delicious meal.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My success is not my own but is a reflection of the people that have shown me unconditional love and support throughout my life and professional journey. I have to thank all my family and close friends for believing in my crazy dreams and pushing me to pressure my passions even when I wanted to quit. First, I want to shout out my mom, who inspires me just by being the strong woman of God she is. Secondly, my sister, who I can always rely on for great advice or even to vent my life frustrations too. I know I wouldn’t be in the position I am in without the support of those two. I also want to thank all of my close friends that support my endeavors. Anyone that ever booked me for a project to even liked one of my posts on social media, I truly appreciate it all.
