We had the good fortune of connecting with Marci Scott – Andes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marci, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process started during the pandemic. As with a lot of businesses, the pandemic impacted us all. Most places shutting down with no real time line as to when we could operate as we used too. I’ve always worked in a big box gym and I felt in my soul that I wanted to do more. Help more people, impact lives in a way that I wasn’t able to do. Trading time for money was becoming an obsolete way of working. The pandemic opened my eyes and provided me an opportunity to reach more people across the globe. It also helped more people see that the way they were living was and is unhealthy.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from others is my ability for others to relate to me. Women and men can relate to me and my story. I’ve been unhealthy, overweight, bloated, not happy in my life and didn’t know where to turn for any type of relief. My transformation didn’t happen overnight. I went through struggles to get my weight to where I was comfortable. I struggled with changing my mindset and taste buds to accept healthier foods. But once I did, I noticed the change. Not only in my weight as it dropped but in how my mind become clearer, my spirit soared higher, I felt good! Thats where I came up with the name for my business Phoenix Tribe Fitness. I had to tear my olds elf down to be reborn out of those ashes to be the beautiful bird that emerges in front of the world now.

I’m most excited about the newest program I’ll be offering. This will be a program that men and women will be able to relate too… It’s the Fit at 40+ Program. This program will be designed to help those that are in their 40’s and beyond. I know a lot of men and women who struggle with weight gain as we get older. Our bodies start to turn against us but our minds are young. Physiologically, we age and of course most of want to fight against aging, but many don’t know where or even how to begin. Thats where my program comes into play. We all want to retain our sexiness and confidence but as the years come on, so do the pounds.

The lessons I’ve learned are to stay openminded and to listen. The more I listen the more I learn. I don’t pretend to know everything, so I chose to keep learning so that I can continue to grow.

My brand is me. I am light hearted, fun, outgoing but will kick your a$$ in a workout and push you to become the best version of yourself. All the while being compassionate and empathetic to ones struggles that comes with change. Change is hard, but staying the same is harder

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m new to the Georgia area. But I’ve been to the aquarium twice and love it. The dolphin show is amazing. Six Flags is awesome as well. Got membership passes even before living here, LOL. I knew that we as a family would be going there often.

I don’t eat out very often. I food prep all my meals at home but theres a few places in Douglasville that I’ve eaten at and all of them are Mexican places. HAHA… my and hubby LOVE margaritas. La Fiesta is one of our fav spots… Super strong margaritas.

If my friend is coming to visit we’d be hanging out on my acre of land hanging out at the pool or spa. We purchased this home because it had a pool, land and space that we wanted. Throw on some music from our outdoor speakers, BBQ some good food, and make our own margaritas. What else do you need in life? I’m content being home doing just that. And my friends would be just fine doing that too.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to first and foremost, my husband. He is such a great supporter of me and my business. He’s helped me throughout my career so that I can invest further into my business so that I can continue to learn and thrive in my given field.

Next I want to give a shout out to my friends and family. Without their support, faith and belief in me, this would’ve been a hard struggle. We all need support from those that are closest to us. They can see further sometimes than the individual who’s in the midst of it can.

Thank you to the big box gyms and managers that I worked or early on in mar career. Those experiences have helped groom me to be the best trainer/coach I know that I could be. That’s where my career began. Without those experiences in the gyms with different types of clients, I wouldn’t be here now. Shout out to my clients who have stayed with me and have become a special part of my life. Thanks for believing and trusting my process to get you to your goals.

Thanks to the NPE Coaching staff for helping me refine my business and message. They helped me take my business online so that I am able to reach more people who can benefit from my programs.
