We had the good fortune of connecting with Manjul Mishra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Manjul, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The decision to start my own business, Ayunidhi, was motivated by my personal journey. I had dedicated over two decades to a successful career in Silicon Valley’s corporate landscape, before making this change.
My health challenges in my late thirties – specifically a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis – changed my perspective on life. It was a wakeup call for me and it led me to explore the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga. Through the adoption of an Ayurvedic lifestyle and regular Yoga practice, I experienced a remarkable transformation. Not only did my health improve I was also able to do things I never thought I could following my diagnosis, like visiting the world’s 2nd highest drivable mountain pass without needing an oxygen cylinder for assistance.
I also recognized the deep potential these practices have to positively impact the lives of others. This realization ignited my passion to share these time-honored traditions with a broader audience, inspiring me to raise awareness through talks, provide guidance through diet and lifestyle counseling, and volunteer as a Yoga teacher.
The evolution of Ayunidhi was, therefore, a natural progression of my journey. Sharing these practices with others became my newfound purpose. The pandemic-induced challenges and personal upheavals, including a divorce, further underscored the importance of holistic well-being and self-care. In the face of chaos and uncertainty, it was my commitment to Yoga that provided solace, strength, and clarity, reinforcing the transformative power of these ancient practices
In establishing Ayunidhi, I aim to create a platform that not only offers guidance on diet and lifestyle but also provides empowerment to individuals seeking to reclaim their health and vitality. The vision behind Ayunidhi is rooted in the belief that simple yet powerful changes in one’s approach to health and well-being can have far-reaching implications, transforming lives and preventing needless suffering from diseases that can be managed through mindful living.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business provides health counseling services based on Ayurveda and Yoga, to preserve one’s health and prevent diseases. Having gone through the challenges of day-to-day stress leading to an autoimmune disease myself, I can relate to my clients .
At Ayunidhi, our health counseling services are tailored to each individual’s unique needs and goals. We offer personalized consultations that combine principles of Ayurveda and Yoga to promote well-being. Our services include a comprehensive Ayurvedic assessment, a personalized health plan including dietary recommendations, lifestyle modifications and yoga practices, herbal recommendations, stress management techniques, and a commitment to ongoing guidance.
My purpose is to empower my clients to make informed choices about their health, cultivate balance between mind, body, and spirit, and enhance their overall quality of life.
The name “Ayunidhi” means “the treasure of life” and I believe the true treasure of life is our health, and I hope to share the treasures of Ayurveda and Yoga with the world, one life at a time.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would have them experience the serenity my little coastal town offers. They can also explore San Diego and Disneyland while they are here as San Diego is 30 minutes away and Anaheim is an hour and half drive from Encinitas.
There are numerous beautiful beaches and trails to explore in the morning, from San Elijo Beach to Swami’s Beach Walk, Coastal Rail Trail and Batiquitos lagoon trail . If they are visiting Encinitas for the first time, they should not miss the tranquil Meditation Garden. For breakfast, either Pannikin Coffee and Tea or Brugger’s Bagel are delicious options to indulge in.
Following the morning venture, the next stop would be downtown Encinitas, which offers an all-encompassing experience, ripe with artisan fairs, vegan pop-ups, and the renowned weekly Farmer’s Market. The breathtaking San Diego Botanical Garden would come after, with its multitude of trails and diverse plant life. Various lunch options are present nearby, including some great Mexican cuisine like Pina or Roberto’s.
After the afternoon excursion, the picturesque sunset views of Encinitas would be the final stop on the tour. A perfect evening can be spent at Moonlight Beach watching the sun descend, followed by dinner at Everest Himalayan Cuisine.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate a heartfelt shoutout to my two amazing sons- their love and support have been my driving force throughout this journey. Additionally, I want to express my deep gratitude to my mentor and teacher Dr. Jay Apte, whose teachings have been instrumental in shaping Ayunidhi.
