We had the good fortune of connecting with Malcolm Hunter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Malcolm, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been my mindset. My mindset sets the tone for how I run my business. As an entrepreneur, I can either have the mindset of a player or a victim. A player has the confidence to jump into any situation and handle it head on; while a victim sits back and waits to be saved. Every morning, I nurture my thoughts and attitude by stating gratitudes of thanks and writing daily affirmations. My brand is real estate. As a Realtor of over seven years, I am the brand clients see on a daily basis. As their trusted advisor, my mindset determines the vibration of their real estate transaction.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have been a Realtor for nearly eight years, and the best is yet to come. My handle on all social media platforms is @MalcolmHelpsATL because I am in the business of helping everyone achieve home ownership. What sets me apart is that I am “The People’s Realtor”. I have worked with first-time homebuyers, sellers, experienced clients, celebrities, and anyone who needs my services. It brings me overwhelming joy to be a trusted advisor to someone making the largest financial purchase of their lifetime. Building my business has been a challenge. I began my career in Macon, Georgia in December 2013 and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in January 2016, essentially starting over. Being an entrepreneur has taught me resilience. There’s no shame in failing, but giving up is merely unacceptable. I want the world to know that I am passionate about my career, and put that passion into helping my clients cross the finish line of home ownership.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Atlanta, we would start off with good food and drinks. I enjoy the city nightlife, and would take them to the Edgewood Avenue district to bar hop along the strip, and stop into Harold’s Chicken & Ice Bar for the DJ, strong drinks, and even better food. For good music and hanging out, we would check out East Atlanta Village to listen to live bands, and then catch some drink specials at Blu Catina on Glenwood Avenue. For daytime adventures, I love bowling. We would go to Bowlero in Atlantic Station, where there’s also great retail shopping.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my mother, Adrienne Smith-Hunter, who introduced and nurtured my love of real estate as child. We would watch HGTV together at night and go to open houses every weekend to see the architecture. As a lifelong saleswoman, she instilled in me the importance of serving others and maintaining a clientele. Even today, I seek her advice of handling certain situations in my business, and she always provides great support and insight.
