Meet Maiya Fuller-Howard | Founder & CEO of education brand- Teach Her Chic

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maiya Fuller-Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maiya, what makes you happy? Why?
What truly makes me happy is freedom- the freedom to be present and live life on my own terms! Becoming a mother completely shifted both my heart and my priorities. My children are my greatest joy and my biggest motivation. Being able to show up for them daily, pour into them, and still pursue my purpose is something I’ll never take for granted! I’m also the happiest when I’m creating for my education brand, Teach Her Chic. There’s something so fulfilling about turning an idea into something real- especially when I know it will support teachers and helps students learn. After experiencing burnout in the classroom, I knew it was time for a change. Building my own brand gave me life and reminded me why I fell in love with education in the first place- but this time with peace, balance, and purpose at the center. My faith keeps me grounded, my husband and kids keep me focused, and my creativity keeps me inspired. Happiness to me isn’t all about accomplishments- it’s about peace, alignment, and having the confidence it takes to build the life I’ve always wanted.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m the founder of Teach Her Chic, an education brand built from a genuine love for teaching and creativity. What started as an idea has grown into a business that allows me to serve educators while staying aligned with who I am as a person. At just over four months in, I reached the top 6% of sellers on the Teachers Pay Teachers platform- something I’m incredibly grateful for! The journey hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it, and believing in myself is what has carried me through. It’s a joy to create resources that help others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to Atlanta for a week, I’d start with SkyView Atlanta! It’s special to me because it was the site of my husband and I’s first real date and our youngest son’s gender reveal. Atlantic Station is also a fun spot. I love the shopping, food, and open-air vibes. For views, I’d take them to Ponce City Market. I love the view of the skyline from there, especially the view of the Bank of America Plaza- my favorite building in the city!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest shoutout goes to my family- my husband, my children, my parents, and my younger sister. My husband has been my steady support through every season, my children are my why, my parents laid the foundation through their love and sacrifices, and my sister is a constant reminder for me to keep dreaming! I am who I am because of them.
