We had the good fortune of connecting with Lyric Abbott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lyric, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
To me success is not a destination, but a direction.I would consider myself successful when I am able to travel more than work. When I’m able to Take the money that I have earned from my business and give back to the community and able to help others. Lastly, success means financial freedom, Where money is the least of your worries, being able to purchase anything you would like without having to worry about how much it cost, And being debt-free.

As for me, At birth, I suffered a brachial plexus injury (nerve damage) in my right and left arm, which resulted in my left arm recovering fully but affecting the growth and development of my right arm. Due to this condition, as I child I always felt left out and different from my peers. While in middle school, art became an outlet for me to take my attention off of negativity. I began drawing at the age of 11 but at the age of 13 I realized I was blessed with a talent and began to take my passion for art serious. My passion later became something difficult to do due to my left hand continuously experiencing vicious cramps. Because of this, I decided to learn how to utilize programs such as Adobe, Photoshop, and Illustrator. The use of these programs became my pencil and paper and that is where I continue to flourish. I have now grown confident in my ability to create, however, I truly believe there will always be room to grow. I am constantly seeking new opportunities to enhance my skills as I continue to grow as a graphic designer.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh Where do I Start. We would make hotel reservations at The W or Atlanta Marquis. Brunch is at botica or atlanta breakfast club. Dinner would be at Mary Macs tea room or Rrtacos. For Activities the aquarium, world of coca cola, And shopping in the surround areas.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
YouTube has a big part in my success, Because when I first started designing, I didn’t have much knowledge about graphic and web design. And I didn’t have anyone around me that knew how to do it either so I turned to YouTube for tutorials and classe, Till this day I still turn to YouTube for assistance. Lastly, I would like to give recognition to my mother for always encouraging me to do better, and for always believing in me. She raised me to be strong, Determined, strong-willed, and self-confident, so being successful was always in my future.
