We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, how do you think about risk?
When I think about taking risks I weigh them first. I weigh the good and bad and the possible outcome if I take the risk or don’t take the risk. Ultimately if the good out weighs the bad and if the outcome will be beneficial not just to myself but to others then I take the risk.
A major risk I have taken in my career was taking the first step. Investing money and time in a career when I was past a certain age. Also taking this risk at the height of the global pandemic when there was so much uncertainty day to day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I started my business Flow & Center Yoga in 2020. My main goal was to bring yoga into my community which I felt was undeserved and ignored for the most part. I wanted to show that yoga was accessible to everyone regardless of race, size, ability or economic status.
It was easy to start the business because I chose not to have a brick and mortar business but to have a mobile/virtual business that I could bring to clients.
A valuable lesson that I have learned is that you need to make connections with others in the same business and other businesses that align to what you offer. You need to network and have a social media presence to stay connected.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about myself and my brand is that what you see is what you get. I don’t put on airs, or pretend to be something I’m not. I choose to live and be open and authentic.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I were to give a friend a tour of some of my favorite places or things my top five food spots would be:
Atlanta Breakfast Club
High Noon Brunchery
Krog Street Market
Ponce City Market
Busy Bee Cafe

Top five places:
Sweetwater Creek State Park
MLK Museum
Georgia Aquarium
Mablehouse Amphitheater
Beltline

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to a group of ladies I refer to as “my yoga sisters”. They are a group of four phenomenal women that I met during yoga teacher training. We always have each other’s back, support one another in our endeavors and take time to visit, vibe and chill with one another.
