We had the good fortune of connecting with Lavish and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lavish, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Yes, of course! There are different quotes, affirmations and mantras that I use in different situations but here are a few of my favorite ones that I would love to share with you! One favorite quote of mine is “Do unto others as you would want them to do to you”. This quote is one that I use in my personal life and business affairs on a daily basis. I strive to treat people fairly in all that I do in order to receive back the same type of treatment. It is the golden rule to life in my eyes and once you practice this principle, I believe that you will prosper if you follow this code of ethics. In the broader aspect, the “Do unto others as you would want them to do to you” quote is connected with another favorite quote of mine which is “You reap what you sow”. This quote is very important to me because I believe that everything that you come into contact with such as people, nature and life situations along with your behavior towards them are a reflection of what will come back to you or someone connected to you in your lifetime. Both of these quotes represent a need for me to push positivity and light into the negative and dark aspects of the world by brightening the lives of others. Whether that be a small display of encouragement or a large display I am able to lift my mood and vibration when I help lift another person’s spirit. Thus, showing that good people with morals and integrity still exists in today’s society. My favorite affirmation/mantra that I tell myself on a daily basis is that “I am worthy”. This mantra has a significant meaning to me because knowing that I am worthy gives me the confidence and self-assurance that I need to understand and realize that I’m deserving of the choices that I make in life as well as the successes and rewards which come along with those choices. I am Worthy tells my subconscious that I do not need any external validation to give me a reason to feel a deep sense of self- worth or self- value. I feel that you have to believe that you are worthy before you can attain your true inner dreams and desires. I believe this is because being worthy is a mindset and your thoughts are what equal your actions and your actions are what creates your results.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I have a few different passions turned businesses in the beauty industry that I run. I am a licensed nail technician with a background in cosmetology. I also have a makeup service business but in the wake of the pandemic and after everyone was on lockdown, I was forced to look for other means to bring income into my household. The press-on custom nail sets were making a huge comeback within the industry and allowed for countless of nail technicians to continue being able to bring in an income stream within their career field so I hopped on the trend and it was successful. I also offer designer inspired sunglasses along a mink lash line. I am in the process of adding additional products to the online store for expansion and I am so excited! Now, I want to say that the road to entrepreneurship is definitely a bumpy one with its highs and lows although I have learned to embrace the challenges as they occur with a proactive approach instead of reactive. I am most proud of how I handled a certain situation with the creation of my website of my online store. I hired a company who appeared reputable to handle building the store in order to save me some additional time. I thought everything was good until two weeks before my launch date, I learned that the company basically did not in my eyes do any type of visible work. I was furious and even though I received a refund (thank God), I still had the dilemma of having to build and structure an entire online store fully functional on a platform in which I was totally unfamiliar with. Lol, I believe this is where my associate’s degree in IT kicked in! Even though I had the website launch two weeks later than scheduled, I still receive compliments on the website design and layout which surprised me being that I kind of doubted how it looked being that I had viewed it millions of times. Compliments of how professional and legit my website appears is what warms my heart to motivate me to continue to push forward. Also, knowing that God has given me all that I need to handle issues on my own thus not overlooking or underestimating my current resources. What I want the world to know about my brand is that I believe in giving customers more than they expect which is the foundation of my brand name Lavish (LVSH for short). The verb definition of lavish means to give freely or to give generously and that is what I embody. I feel at peace when I give to others in a way that adds value to their lives while giving from my heart.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m not originally from Atlanta although I do go out and mingle from time to time. One of my favorite spots to hang out is the Atlantic Grill restaurant in the Atlantic Station district. I’ve taken a few family members and friends to eat, shop and catch a movie while they were visiting the “A”. The drinks were on point and the food along with the service were worth coming back. Outdoor dining on the patio while people watching mixed with tasty drinks made for a wonderful time!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I will start by giving recognition to the Creator Jehovah God for gifting me with talents that allow me to beautify people from not just the outside but the inside too. I also have the support and encouragement from my family, friends and customers who I am forever appreciative for. I have the enlightening experience of being in a mentorship with a great mentor who I am very grateful to have helped lift my mental state from sadness, confusion and fear. Lastly, there are the everyday people who I do not know personally that come into my life to leave a little bit of sunshine and I definitely appreciate how their positivity inspires my day.
