Meet LaTanya Rawles | Life Coach, essential oil lover

We had the good fortune of connecting with LaTanya Rawles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LaTanya, what’s your definition for success?
Success for me is finding and doing things that bring me joy, align with my beliefs and purpose, and help others to do the same. I believe that success does, and should look different for everyone. I have never been focused on material things being a symbol for success, but how do I feel when I do this, and who am I helping along the way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a life coach with a specialty in self-love, self-care, and empowerment. I also would consider myself and essential oil junkie! I am the thing that sets me apart from the rest. I am proud of that because, I understand that when people say yes to an offer, they are really saying yes to me. My way of BE-ing, my energy, my gifts. My journey started with trauma, heartbreak, depression, and almost a divorce. I had been unconsciously running from my trauma for years, decades really. One day, I looked up and all I could see was how my pain was showing up literally everywhere in my life. I just decided that I didn’t want to live in like that anymore. I started small. I made sure to make me a priority, everyday. I built on that. Went to therapy, meditation, affirmations, essential oils, and crystals. Yes, I love crystals! I embraced my natural hair, and started learning who I really am, and practiced BE-ing my authentic self more and more. I noticed quickly how when I started changing, everyone around me changed. My husband and I grew so close. Looking back, I can say that the affair, was the best thing that ever happened to us. It’s so interesting, how you shift when you feel as though you have nothing to lose. It’s a terrifyingly freeing experience. The challenge for me? When things got painfully real, I didn’t want to stay or go. But society says this “Girl, you need to _____”. I lost so many months trapped in that thinking. It wasn’t until I decided to focus on what I could control, that I was able to put me back together. I knew I wasn’t the only one, so I started to share my story. The most important lesson I’ve learned through all of this? Listen to YOUR voice. People will always hove something to say. If you BE still and listen, you will get all the answers that you seek. Trust that, have faith, and look for the signs. The one thing I want the world to know about me is, I am a very positive thinking person. Not because my life is perfect. I have many things I could be sad about just like anyone else. I chose to stay positive because the more positivity I put out, the more it comes back to me in the most divine ways. I don’t just have great days by chance, I create great days, because that is my expectation.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ohhh, well I would start the week with an early morning hike to Tallulah Gorge. We have so many beautiful parks and waterfalls here. I would highly recommend visiting one, or all of them. I would go have brunch at the Blu Rose Bistro in downtown Douglasville for brunch, order the blueberry lemonade, and thank me later. I’d finish the day with a manicure and pedicure from LD nails, and visit my favorite bakery Iced and Topped, also in Douglasville, and all black owned. I would spend some time thrifting, no place in particular, I just like to find hidden gems. A farmers market would for sure be on the list. You never know what you can learn or find there. I would take her to my favorite crystal shop, The Honey Pot. Then have lunch at Govinda’s Cafe which servers the most creative vegan food I’ve had in awhile. I love, love, love, earrings and finding clothes that are unique, so I would also stop by GET IT GRL boutique, and give them all of my coins! The last day, I would plan to spend several hours at The Place of Kai. I love everything about this place! They have an oxygen bar, salt cave, yoni steams, sound baths, and reiki. It is the perfect place to unwind, relax, and reset for the week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Easy, hands down, I want to shoutout my husband. He has been my biggest supporter since day one. He believed in me before I acknowledged my own gifts and talents. He’s coached and poured into me when I couldn’t see the light. He always did. Because of his perseverance, I was able to get a clear vision about who I am and my zone of genius. Thank you Travis for all the scarifies you’ve made and continue to make for me, and our boys. I love you babe.
